    Sakit ng 4d56 sa L200 ko nung luma na umiinit sa traffic pero hindi nag overheat. Ano naman kaya sakit ng mga lumulumang 4ja1 ng isuzu?
    Kung sanay na po kayo sa mitsu mas madali para sa inyo sir at alam nyo na mga dapat gawin pero makitid yun advie at matagtag. Yun xwind mas malapad sya at mas maganda ride kesa advie.

    Do you really need an Auv sir? Baka a sedan can fit your needs?

    Sanay ako sa utility vehicle. Pickup sana gusto ko kaya lang mahal nowadays. Siguro pag na promote pa ko ng 2 rank maka bili na ko.

    Ayoko ng sedan. Sumasayad pag puno, sobra baba ng posisyon ng air intake (delikado ilusong sa baha), mababa ang view, at manipis kaha.

    Hmmm mukhang pagaralan ko pa kung alin sa dalawa. Thanks sa input

    Matibay ang 4JA1. If you read around the threads here, you will see many that are well above 300tkms in mileage already. I'm not aware of any particular "sakit" with the 4JA1 aside from being prone to smoke belching. Yung 2012 IPV ng kamag anak ko nasa 37tkms na ngayon, used as delivery vehicle with a driver that used to be a jeepney driver. Nothing replaced so far except the consumables. Fuel filter needs to be replaced every 15tkms though. Naoverdue yung sakanila hanggang sa ayaw na magstart. Umayos naman daw kaagad nung pinalitan ang fuel filter.

    Brand new lang ba option? Mas dadami sana ang choices mo kung sasamahin mo ang 2nd hand.

    True, matibay po yung 4JA1, yung Hi-Lander namin nagkaproblema nga lang sa feed pump dahil sa katagalan na at dumi pa ng diesel na kinakarga may lumot pa. Mileage is 211K+ Km na.

    Tapos dati nalaman na lang namin puno na ng langis yung radiator kasi tumataas temp. Sira na pala yung water pump. Pero unaandar pa din siya. But I'm sure kulang talaga sa maintenance yun kasi ride and go lang, kahit changeoil nalilimutan pa. Hehe.

    Na compare ko lang sa old L300 VV namin na ilang beses na nagpacalibrate sobrang usok pa din talaga hanggang binenta na lang, tapos yung 4D56 based engine ng TDi Starex namin may stalling engine problems na di ma diagnose ng CASA.

    Ngayong minor lang differences ng Hi-Lander sa Crosswind I'm sure matibay talaga. Though may rumor na palit engine na Crosswind dahil sa upcoming Euro compliance upgrade next year.

    Salamat sa mga inputs mga sirs. Mukhang masmatibay 4ja1 at ang xwind itself. Ok naman ang 4d56 kahit 397k kms na, wala naman major problem. Ang cons lang naman so far (para sa akin) umiinit pag traffic at alternator nasa ilalim (nasira yung sa akin after a few years ng ilusong ko sa baha)

    Sa tingin ko xwind na ko. Number one priority ko is reliability. Basta power steering, may aircon, at radio ok na sa akin kahit manual windows at side mirror hehe.

    Kahit 4ja1 nalang gawin lang nilang crdi at hindi turbo turbohan hehe

    In terms of tibay ng makina, Dun ako sa naka timing gear which is yung 4ja1 (Xwind). Pero sa performance, sa 4d56 (Adventure) ako. Maganda dumulo ang adventure.

    Magandang workhorse vehicle nga ang 4JA1. Basta may tamang maintenance, tiyak na tatagal yan. Sa experience ko sa IPV, hindi naman siya makupad kapag kinumpara sa ibang old school diesels. In fact napatakbo ko ng 145km/h (top speed) sa TPLEX ito, same top speed as our Revo diesel. Kung nabibitin ka, since may turbo ito (kahit maliit), pwede lagyan ng alcohol injection. Makakakita ka ng malaking power increase as compared to minimal power increase in non-turbo diesels.

    Kapag napa dulo yung takbo ng crosswind Xt or Xl. Kaya sumabay sa mga Non Vnt Fortuner. Gaan ng kaha kumpara sa sportivo.

    Sakit ng 4d56 sa L200 ko nung luma na umiinit sa traffic pero hindi nag overheat. Ano naman kaya sakit ng mga lumulumang 4ja1 ng isuzu?
    XL na sir or XS(6str)crosswind) lang yata pasok sa budget mo ng 750k ung GX adventure kasi masyadong plain ang interior seats niya is fixed except sa 2nd row bench type fold and tumble.
    Ang sakit ng aging 4jai is pag naghighspeed at 100kph tataas temperature sa gauge paghina na radiator mo 10k lang naman radiator from casa ayos na ulit

    For me, crosswind sir, reliable talaga ang 4ja1, timing gear cya so no worries na magpapalit ka ng belt at regular mileage intervals, tapos ang maintenance nya lang halos ay change oil, oil filter and fuel filter, na kahit sa mga suking gas stations eh pwede pagawa. btw, 4 liters lang din pala ang required motor oil niya, compared sa 4d56 na 5.5 liters.

    Pros naman sa advie, mas tahimik nga ang engine nya compared sa crosswind, saka parang mas nagagandahan ko interior ng konti (crosswind kasi parang utilitarian talaga ang design). And parang mas matulin patakbuhin ang advie, based on my experience (advie kasi service namin sa opisina, crosswind naman ang personal car ko, and i drive them both).

    Yung crosswind ko pala is 300k kms na, so far no problem, kahit nga fuel pump and injectors di pa nabuksan, nagpalit ako ng clutch nung 240k, bumili ako ng orig kay walco sa banawe. Ang weakness lang nung akin ay radiator, which i believed talagang sakit ng sinaunang crosswind pero naayos naman na daw sa newer models.

    Suspension wise, pareho lang ang feel ko sa dalawa, pero sa loading capacity parang mahina ang advie.

    Wow 4 liters lang. Actually pag maganda pagkadrain ng oil sa 4d56, umaabot siya ng 6 liters. At ang ayaw ko sa design ng 4d56 yung alternator nasa ilalim. Sa 4ja1 parang nakita ko sa youtube nasa ibabaw.

    Sabi nga daw masmabilis tumakbo 4d56 kahit 10hp lamang ng xwind. Baka masmabigat xwind or sa gear ratios.

    Nabasa ko nga din sa isuzu thread na may ilang owners nagleleak yung radiator after lumuma na. Malaki nababawas sa tubig on a daily basis?

    Naka ilang beses na ako kasi nagpahinang ng radiator sir kaya na conclude ko na weakness nga to ng crosswind, the last time kasi na nagpa repair ako ng radiator visible na talaga yung leak ng tubig, nauubos yung reservour weekly.

    Regarding sa oil, actually pag maganda drain sabi ng "experts" sa isuzu forums eh 4.25 liters daw, but pag nagpa change oil ako laging 4 liters lang, almost full na cya kay di ko na dinadagdagan ng .25 liters. Yung alternator nya medyo nasa gitna naman, mataas cguro ng komti sa level ng bumper.

    Naka ilang beses na ako kasi nagpahinang ng radiator sir kaya na conclude ko na weakness nga to ng crosswind, the last time kasi na nagpa repair ako ng radiator visible na talaga yung leak ng tubig, nauubos yung reservour weekly.

    Regarding sa oil, actually pag maganda drain sabi ng "experts" sa isuzu forums eh 4.25 liters daw, but pag nagpa change oil ako laging 4 liters lang, almost full na cya kay di ko na dinadagdagan ng .25 liters.     Our Office namin has 12 adventure service vehicles. We started using them after we decided to replaced all our Avanzas. Medyo mahina ang Avanzas kung for business and araw-araw binabiyahe ng malayo so we decided to switch, specially since diesel ang adventure. We never considered the Xwind mainly because walang Dealer ang Isuzu near our office and not familiar with it.

    Unlike the the problematic Avanza's the adventure performed very well. Our 2 adventures purchased last 2010 are now over 160,000 kms pero no major breakdowns. In fact it still looks very new. Drives like new, paint looks like new.

    Many of our employees are excited because we dispose our vehicles at a very cheap employee price , ( 1/6 price of acquisition value, 4 years to pay at no interest) when they reached 6 years old. We have 2 adventures for disposal next year and employees are eagerly awaiting them.

    regular 5,000kms pms is also cheap at P1,800 and we replaced timing belts every 80,000kms at P8,000 including labor.

    I guess it is also very true that mechanics are very familiar with the 4D56 engine which i believe is a very old engine.

    Yes its true. Cheap maintenance. Di rin maarte sa diesel. Mausok pag binibirit. Pero kung dahan dahan lamg acceleration wala namang usok. Madadagdagan lang ang cost ng maintenance pag palit ng fuel filter (usually once a year lang ang palit) at change ng timing belt which happen pag reach ng 90k km.

    Iyong Avanza sa office, we used to have 10 units. all bought brand new. 4 units required a major overhaul in less than 4 years. Many of our units have perennial wheel bearing problems. The radiator fans also was a perenial problem and so with the rear aircon fan.

    I think it is the way typical drivers used the vehicle. I have observed our drivers used the Avanzas. Birit sa NLEX usually reaching 110-120kph. Sustained iyon, at that speed mataas na ang rpm. iirc mga nasa 3,500-4,000 rpm na iyon. If you do this everyday, madaling masira ang sasakyan. Kaya advice ko sa mga friends ko, for city driving or personal use, okay ang Avanza malamang pero hinde siya uubra kung pang negosyo and hinde personally driven ang sasakyan.

    I think this is also the reason why, hinde na popular ang Avanzas para gawing taxi, dati ang daming Avanzas pero ngayon konti nalang kasi maraming taxi drivers ang nagrereklamo.

    Regarding the Adventure, so far hinde pa naman mausok ang mga sasakyan namin. Probably regular PMS helps.

Sustained iyon, at that speed mataas na ang rpm. iirc mga nasa 3,500-4,000 rpm na iyon. If you do this everyday, madaling masira ang sasakyan. Kaya advice ko sa mga friends ko, for city driving or personal use, okay ang Avanza malamang pero hinde siya uubra kung pang negosyo and hinde personally driven ang sasakyan.

    I think this is also the reason why, hinde na popular ang Avanzas para gawing taxi, dati ang daming Avanzas pero ngayon konti nalang kasi maraming taxi drivers ang nagrereklamo.

    Regarding the Adventure, so far hinde pa naman mausok ang mga sasakyan namin. Probably regular PMS helps.
