If it's a diesel a/t SUV your're after this time, you can never go wrong with a 4 or 5 year old pajero well within your 800k budget. Follow your heart.

Follow your heart....if it's a diesel a/t suv you're looking for this time, get a 4 or 5 year old pajero. Di ko lang alam if 3rd row is front facing but I'm sure it is front facing sa 3rd row ng ford everest.
kung dun sa 5 choices, pajero ang una then everest.
sa other choices naman, starex, brand new innova or APV (if ok lang ang gasoline engine)
sa akin di avisable na people carrier ang suv lalo na kung kids coz of its height and ride quality. dabest pa rin ang sliding doors and full seats sa 3rd row.
thanks for the recommendations. you guys have been very helpful.
anyway, i've given this a little more thought over the weekend and realized that diesel may not be the answer for me. Taking into consideration that i average only 3-5k km of driving a year, perhaps sticking to gas engines might be better for me.
here are what my wife and i checked out over the weekend:
1. '05 innova gas a/t - falls right in the budget. she found the interior a bit tight though. it's not off the table yet but it isn't on top of the list.
2. '01 grand caravan (2.4L or 3.3L) - should be able to save around 200-300k from my budget. very comfortable ride & lots of room inside. downside? no resale value.
3. '99 pajero 3.0L v6 - similar savings as caravan but should hold value better.
4. '97 prado 3.4L v6 - 9 years old but in great shape. will probably outlive those listed above. we both liked it very much but the above-mentioned are much cheaper.
there is no clear winner at this stage but the caravan and pajero have the advantage. would appreciate your comments/feedback on these two. anything else i should add on the list?
thanks again!!!
Baka mahirapan ka sa pyesa sa Caravan pre, I'd go for the Pajero nalang kung yang dalawa ang shortlisted items mo.
The Prado 3400 is cool, too. I've driven one of those. And parts support is great. Even 50 year old LC's still have parts support.
Btw, the Pajero V6 is just as powerful as the Prado's.

thanks for all the help. the commander pulled rank and chose a '97 prado v6. it had only 38k km on it and it was really clean in and out.
anyway, can you recommend a place (other than casa) where i can bring it in for a routine check up, preferrably near the edsa-madaluyong area? what should i have them inspect aside from brakes, timing belt, drive belts, fluids (lubricants), suspension, etc?
finally, where can i get prado accessories?
thanks again!!!
congrats edrik, one of my favorite LC, 3400V6 has a lot of oomp, be light na lang on the pedal...
as for parts wala kang problema diyan, from Kanzen to Boy Libongcugon marami yan...
dubai version ba? 24volts?
thanks kimpoy. yes, i keep it light on the pedal. it's from china - not dubai.Originally Posted by kimpOy

follow up lang po...
please recommend a place (other than casa) where i can bring in the prado for a routine check up and perhaps an oil change, preferrably near the edsa-madaluyong area. i need to have alignment checked since i noticed some wear on the inside edge of all tires (unless the previous owner had them reversed already in which case the wear is really on the outside). also, the gearshift lever seems to be a tad loose.
thanks!
nice choice in Prado...
between the Paj V6 and Prado V6, I will also choose the Prado....
how's the fuel consumption?![]()
