Well all I can say despite of the minor problem... is that I'm satisfied with my ride. Ganda ng handling kahit nakalowered

Oks... congrats again... (niiiiice mags)... hopefully it's just a bushing (common naman with lowered cars and/or cars with big mags). :D

thanks niky.

Condolences. Patience lang yan bro... every silver lining has a cloud. As long as the rest is okay afterwards, that's fine. It isn't uncommon to need maintenance for suspension parts if the car is lowered or has upsized wheels, so you were bound to do this anyway.

Kung naka-lowering springs yan, you might want to look at gas shocks.

FORD Guru's, Is it true na nahirap hanapin parts after magsara plant nila d2 sa pinas and mostlikely sa casa ka lang pwede magpagawa? I'm interested kasi to buy 2nd hand lynx and was adviced by my uncle's mechanic to go for a japanese car instead of Ford Lynx.

Lynx/Ford Gurus/masters, with the specs mentioned above, would you think is reasonable enough assuming CPS issue has been addressed? if CPS still not replaced/addressed, how much will you buy/price the said car? To be honest, wala akong maraming alam sa car resale and especially on lynx but interested to buy lynx ghia.

For parts such as body panels, you might have to ask the plant or source it from wrecking yards in Bulacan or Banaue, the same as with any other vehicle.

But for common suspension parts, bushings, engine mounts, electronic sensors and engine parts, everything is available as brand-new, both from the dealerships and from replacement parts suppliers in Banaue. There are a whole bunch of them that sell brand new replacements on the E.Rodriguez end of the street.

------

I have no idea how much the bumper costs brand new. Probably 12-16k pesos, unpainted, but I'm not really sure. It's cheaper to buy surplus, since you'll have to paint it anyway.

It all depends on how the owner maintains his/her car. I am an existing proud owner of a 2004 Ford Lynx Ghia A/T with 90t mileage. Its been five years and i havent had any major trouble with it except replacing the battery, which is normal for every car. I have it casa service every 5t just to ensure that everything is well. It normally costs me around 2t-3t except when km reading reaches 25t, 50t and 75t. I had to shell out around 12t for every 25t km. So it all depends on how the seller treats his/her car to really say if its a good buy or not.

Gandang umaga po sa lahat. Buhayin ko lang po itong thread. Bagong member lang po ako at bibili sa kauna-unahang pagkakaton ng used car. Napili ko ang Ford kasi sa mababang presyo nito.

Good buy po kaya ang

2003 FORD LYNX GSI * 258,000?

well maintained and nothing to fix sedan. manual, cold ac, no engine leak, factory paint, orig interior, double overhead cam. no under chassis problem. thick tires. you wont waste your time looking at the vehicle. priced at reasonable level. RS body and newly registered this April.
FORD LYNX GSI 2001* 228,000?

Those are still asking prices and negotiable. You can even get a late-model Ghia within 250k pesos if you negotiate well.

I'd go for a later model Lynx, and ask for a test drive, to see if it runs okay in traffic.

Whatever you do... don't get an automatic Lynx... those suck gas like crazy.

Guys, (Sir Niky)

I just bought my friend's Lynx last month... I'm computing my fuel consumption and it's running at 1lit. : 6.5kms. He had set up a very noisy muffler which I do also intend to change. What else can you suggest to improve my fuel consumption... (It'll be a big help since I travel from manila-fort bonifacio-everyday w/ some side trips-it's a big expense on my side) I love the acceletation but I also believe it'll improve greatly as long as I get it into tip top condition again...

What kind is it? Ghia, GSi, LSi, RS? MT or AT?

And what's the average travel time between home and work, and the distance?

Have your MAF checked and cleaned... reset the ECU... and make sure your electronics are all in good shape.

Pieces are available at Banawe, Fordland and Mazford carry them. But some bigger garages in the south will have a source for timing belts and clutches.

Other stuff, like oil filters, etcetera, are easily available.

Log on the http://forum.fordclubph.com, lots of south guys there, they can give you tips on good garages.

if the price is right, why not. pero if you are new to cars, try to get something not new to most mechanics. i think its better to get cars that you see more of. a 96-98 civic/corolla would be easier to maintain than a 2k lynx. wala ng lynx sa kalsada ngayon.
