We are trying to replace my aging 2014 Chevy Spin 1.3T M/T. No need naman sa 7 seater since 2-3 lang naman lagi ang sakay. Gusto lang din namin ng hybrid/EV para coding free upto 2030. TIA

BYD SL5 or SL6 if you can stretch the budget. SL6 has more features and tech worth the upgrade.
if you want pure EV then the Seagull is the only option you have given which is good but might be cramped for some.
The PHEV SL5/SL6 would be most economical of the bunch if you do mostly city driving.

Check Toyota if discounted pa din yung Yaris Cross...

I think the Kicks and Okavanggo are too old.
    Walang coding exemption ang XL7
(Not a fan of the Ertiga)

may sinimulan din akong thread earlier
Yaris Cross 1.5 S HEV CVT vs BYD Sealion 6 DM-i

at 62K more expensive compared to the Sealion 6... ang hirap bilhin ng Yaris Cross (and 1.4M lang budget ni dale323)
pero last month... may 200K discount si Toyota sa Yariss Cross and Corolla Cross.

IMO, at 1.4M, mahirap nang talikuran yung Toyota Badge, kahit na DNGA pa sya.

*dale323 if ADAS is not important to you, you can also check-out the entry level Corolla Cross

Same situation months ago, we end up choosing the BYD-SL6, although 150k over your 1.40M budget but its worth the upgrade and features.
Very frugal, good for city (no flood day) use. We breaked-in it driving to the south , nice ride, very responsive engine. It survived the dilapitated quezon road not once but twice ..lol

For New Energy Vehicles, your best choices in terms of space are the PHEV's like the Jaecoo J7 and the Changan Nevo Q05. The BYD Sealion 5 is a bit dated and isn't as full featured as the other two earlier mentioned.

I don't think the Territory Hybrid is a good deal once you see the Changan and the Jaecoo.

On the EV side, expect something a little bit smaller like the BYD Atto 3 Dynamic and the Omoda E5. I think the latter is a better choice as it has more range than the BYD Atto 3 Premium, let alone the Dynamic. And the Omoda drives much better too, has more torque than the Atto 3 Premium and has far more features than the Dynamic (much better interior too).

If you want to save a bit more the Dongfeng Nammi is currently the best EV deal under a million.

The Nissan Leaf is on clearance sale. Test drive one and see how it feels. It's also quite friendly to people just transitioning to EV's and parts are aplenty as it shares platforms with other Nissans.

Price of the Ford Territory Trend Hybrid is competitive.

It is self charging, just like the one on the Toyota hybrids.

agree. waiting for local reviews/FB groups to see its actual fuel consumption.

if its same as our Zenix, might consider getting it.

The Ford Territory hybrid is not a good seller in China as the technology it has is a bit behind and the brand perception there isn't so good either. Ford's hybrid drivetrain is actually a generation behind that of the competition's PHEV's. TBH, the only reason it is getting any attention in the Philippines is because of brand recognition and the fact that it just came out.

The second-gen non-hybrid Territory was a compelling option in 2023 as it was bigger than a RAV4 but priced like a Yaris Cross. The reality in 2025 is that there are just better choices out there, with better features, better drivetrains, and come with discounts.

Agree... pero (personally). Interested lang ako bec its a "Ford"

I know "Ford Philippines" can support the vehicle.

Ilang beses ko na nabasa sa FB Groups that BYD is having issues with local support and collision parts.

Same reason why I'm still considering the Yaris Cross HEV even if I feel na its too expensive.

Changan Nevo Q05 looks good, pero again, how many Changan showrooms and service centers do you see?

'swhy i shun chinese cars, despite the attractive price.
my perception is, even if the product is of good quality, they have inadequate aftersales, i.e., knowledgeable mechanics and adequate piyeza stocks.
my current japanese cars, sa banawe lahat pagawa. hindi pa ako nabibigo.
