Salamat sa mga reply! Very much appreciated! Share ko lang what we did this past few weekends...
Even on dark mode with minimum brightness , ang lakas pa rin ng glare. I guess naiwan lang kami sa MG at BYD since kahit china brand sila, medyo matagal na sa market si MG and si BYD naman, maganda ang distributor nya (AC Motors). Other China brands (GAC/Changan/Dongfeng,etc) ayaw ni misis...
As for the test drive experience, ang ganda ng SL5. Magaan, maliwanag at mabilis sya.
Basta yun nga, within 1.4M budget.
Cars are very much an emotional purchase and, with the amount of money involved, constitutes quite a number of variables that should certainly be considered. The reason why I keep nominating the Changan Nevo Q05 is because it really is, bang-for-buck, the best hybrid in the 1.4M budget range.
1. Changan is the most reliable car manufacturer in China, which is why it has better domestic appeal there than SAIC (MG's parent company). Changan has been in existence since 1862. They have joint ventures with Ford and Mazda. They manufacture the full catalogue of Mazda models released in China as well.
2. The distributor is Inchcape Philippines which is a joint venture between Inchcape (a UK company started in 1847) and CATS (local distributor of Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram).
3. The Nevo Q05 has a better PHEV drivetrain than the SL5 (known as the Song Pro in China). It also has a far better drivetrain than the MG ZS Hybrid+ HEV-only power unit. The Nevo also has far more features and better ADAS as the SL5 is actually quite bare for a Chinese crossover. The interior looks a LOT better too. It is as big as BYD's Sealion 6.
4. The Nevo Q05 is basically a better Sealion 6 at the price of a Sealion 5. And, if you factor in the discount, the top of the line model is UNDER 1.4M.
BYD has a lot of momentum right now since it is the best selling EV and PHEV brand in the world, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are the "Toyota of EV's' as many people online are calling them. They don't have that same reliability reputation in China, which Changan enjoys domestically.
Dealbreaker kay buyer yung infotainment screen size.
Ayaw ni buyer ng malaking screen na distractive lalo na sa gabi.
Mas malaki yata infotainment screen ng changan nevo q05 kaysa sa byd sl6.
And mas maganda yung harap ng MG

But Ayala dropped KTM even before the bankruptcy. Lucky MAPI was the distributor after AC but the new owners of KTM chose to end their contract.

bagong balita, bagong binitawan
I'd hazard a guess KTM sales were aleady in the doldrums way before they declared bankruptcy.
Kung sa bagay ever since Naman niche market Ang Austrian bike makers na ito. I guess their inability to successfully crossover to road bikes did them in. Or rather, the riding public wasn't as embracing to use KTMs on tarmacs.

The good news is, at least they're still supporting their existing customers through continued operation of their services department.
The bad news is, you'll have to bring it all the way to Alabang for service. Though, they didn't have many to start with anyway (about 5 service centers nationwide prior to the announcement).
Kung may offering yung ktm sa scooter segment tapos cvt o clutchless type, they might have sold some volumes of it. Basta the price is right. Kaso iba talaga market nila pag dating sa two-wheels.
BTT, for me:
1. SL5
2. Ertiga
3. MG-ZS
Main consideration is savings on puchase and tech features.
For me, I would strongly suggest to the OP to go for full EV. One with around 300km of range (WLTP) or more.
But, if he wants to go hybrid instead, then a PHEV is the best solution. My vote goes to these:
• Changan Nevo Q05
• Jaecoo J7 SHS
The SL5 is quite bare for a Chinese PHEV so I find it overpriced for what it offers. Meanwhile, all the other HEV's in this budget are all a generation behind (except for the e-Power Kicks), or are, in fact, not real but more pseudo-hybrids like the Suzuki XL7 and the Okavango.
