August 21st, 2016 12:43 PM #12Modern ATs are very good nowadays so I don't think magkakaproblem ka in that respect of smoothness or ever responsiveness. However may issue yun AT ng fortuner which yun unit ng mother ko is affected. It is now addressed naman by toyota to our satisfaction. I guess test drive ka muna ng hilux AT then you can make your decision. AT is nothing short of a godsend lalo na sa manila traffic nowadays.

August 21st, 2016 11:26 PM #13the AT versus MT battle has reached mahabharatha proportions.
there is an entire thread dedicated to this topic alone.
peruse it, sir.
in the end, my conclusion is, "it is always a personal choice".
i have both AT and MT. and even then, the pros and cons do not paint a clear picture choice that covers all driving conditions. i usually pick one over the other, depending on the type of driving i am about to embark on.
fuel efficiency? on paper, MT trumps AT. but there are those who will dis-agree. we each have our own driving styles.
