So verdict po ba talaga dito better ang altos, mga sir? I'm making a comparison but with different variants 1.5G 4At vios and 1.6G altis, and does the vios have any trouble with the gears? It's not enough or just so? Thanks

The Vios 1.5G's engine and transmission are just enough to carry around its weight. But the Altis has noticeably more power and a better transmission, so when driving it side by side with the Vios, you'd feel that the engine is less stressed and as a result you'll probably get the same (if not better) FC with the Altis.

Aside from the drivetrain, the Altis is leagues better than the Vios in everything else. Space, comfort, NVH, looks, and so on. When you've owned both as I have, you'll notice that the Vios is really more of a budget car than the Altis. The refinement of the Altis isn't in the spec sheets, but once you drive them both, you'll definitely feel it.

Thanks Sir Jut, valuable advice! could you give me any information as to where I could get the best deals or offers for the altis? First car ko 'to kasi and im kinda in unchartered waters eh haha yung offer kasi ng toyota pasig eh as low as 15k down, is it possible na may ganun din for altis 1.6G or 1.6V? I don't mind a monthly payment na 20-22k basta di tataas dun kudos!

My advice is to pay as high a DP as you can, to minimize the interest you'll be paying. Low-down schemes have exorbitant interest rates, you'll effectively have bought a Fortuner. At 20k per month, you'll have paid 1.32M in 5 years, or roughly 44% interest.

In comparison, paying 20% down (160k) and with a 25% interest rate from the bank, you'll only pay 13.5k monthly.

But if you really wanna go with low-down, high monthly rates, you'll have to call different dealers as they have widely varying financing schemes.

Maybe you could check out the nissan sylphy sir. At 780k for the manual it's a good buy. We bought one choosing between the altis. It has 4disc brakes keyless entry and a superb a/c and biggest cabin which won it over for us.

The Sylphy is good value over the Altis 1.6E, since they're pretty much the same spec-wise but the Sylphy is cheaper by about 20k, depending on discounts.

However, you'll recoup that 20k (even more) when you consider resale value. The Altis will definitely sell higher than the Sylphy in the used car market. The Altis also looks better, at least for the base models, because the 16s look too small on the bigger Sylphy while they're just right on the Altis.

By virtue of being a top-selling Toyota, parts availability in the long run will also be in favor of the Altis.

I do wish that more people buy the Sylphy though, just for the sake of competition.

Seems that you got bitten by the bug sir. Altis is a good car. You can't go wrong owning one sir! Enjoy!

But as sir jut703 said. Best put your biggest budget on the downpayment to save on interest.

its reasonable for a 1.6 cc car.
averages around 9.5 kpl city, 10.5 mixed city/highway and 12-13 kpl pure highway, heck i have hit 15.8 kpl on pure highway from las pinas to malolos bulacan on a sunday morning.

Actually, madaming 9th gen Altis na taxi. And personally, the 9th gen Altis didn't seem to age as well as its contemporaries (ES and FD Civic, and most especially the timeless Mazda 3).

The 1st gen Vios is very cramped, though fuel efficiency is known to be very good. It is a 1.3 after all.

If mostly used alone, as a daily commuter car I'd go for it. If with passengers, I'd go with the Altis.
