Planning to purchase a fortuner but since terra is soon coming, which one is a better buy, since they are about at the same price.

i'd wait for the terra to come and its owners post their reviews and thoughts.
then, i should be able to make a good decision.

walang back-up camera? e, 'di palagyan!
you would pass up a superior vehicle (if indeed it is superior) because it has no back-up camera? lame excuse, if you ask me.

tama ka doc, all lame excuses.

Other safety features missing with the fortuner V 4x2 are:
VSC, hill start assist control, traction control, brake assist, downhill assist and differential. I dont know if these features are very useful though.

With regards to back camera its not expensive to install though it could void the electrical when new.

Did they upgrade the current Fortuner V 4x2?
Alam ko kasi only the TOTL Fortuner V 4x4 has the 6 airbags, VSC, Hill start, etc.

According to the SA 6 airbags na daw. But when i recheck today sa brochure na ibinigay nila sa 4x4 nga lang yung 6 airbags.

^ go for the TOTL if your budget allows and if you want all the bells and whistles. you cannot expect all the same features with the lower trims.

Ground Clearance and Wading depth, mas lamang si Forty compare to Terra which is 450mm lang WD. But if you want 800mm WD go for Everest, di ka maiiwan sa baha sa maynila. Of course isa pa lang yan na features na wala sa Forty and Terra, andyan pa yung Active Noise Cancelation, Rain sensing sa Winshield Wiper and so on. The best SUV FC value for money, Everest Trend as per latest DOE and Petron EcoRun. Sa PMS naman every 10K km run or every 6 mos whichever comes first, so 2x ka lang visit sa Casa. This is some of my go to checklist to make the right choice IMO. But still it's up to you, Drive test mo silang lahat para feel mo din handling between your choices. good luck..

Well I can't argue with that lalo na kung siya din magbabayad.

But for the sake of comparo ika nga, dalawa kayo ni Wifey sumakay sa test drive nyo, kung marunogn din magdrive mas maige para siya mismo makakapagsabi kung sino mas magaan at maganda idrive, malay mo baka mag-iba ang ihip ng hangin.

Thanks sa advice Sir. Actually na test drive na mux, eve, monty at fort. Terra nalang hindi pa.
    Wify's concern:
MUX-medyo not bang for the bucks anymore
MONTY - SUA, been convincing here that its not true but then psychological effect is difficult to dissipate since shes also going to drive it.
EVE - US based relatives' negative feedbacks
FORT - pogi but bare except the 4x4.
TERRA - well... Looks promising until proven during a test drive - that will be sooner.
Me and wify are aware of limitations and that we can't have it all in one.
