The CR-V is pretty low so don't consider it for going through flood waters. It is also a gas guzzler so if fuel consumption is an issue for you, then you should consider the Jimny. However, it is bigger and has a better suspension for daily driving in the city.

The Jimny is the lowest cost 4x4 out there and it is brand new, you won't have to worry about parts breaking down for 2-3 years unless you abuse it. Consider the Jimny if you're single and want a different type of car from your sentra.

The Jimny is a purpose-built car made for 4x4 enthusiasts whereas the CR-V was made for the urbanite who may have a family and would go out of town every once in a while and would need to carry groceries and other things.
