2013 Avanza or 2011 Innova?

buying second hand is always a gamble, whether it's avanza or innova, diesel or gas.

but i like to think that a diesel engine is more robustly built than a gas engine, and will probably stand up to rugged use, better.
the innova body is of the toyota ims platform (think, fortuner and hi lux pick up). to me, this means, a stronger body and suspension.

and the innova diesel fuel costs, will run rings around the avanza's, what with the cheaper diesel fuel versus more expensive gasoline.

if you don't mind the larger body and the taller floor (senior citizens!), go innova diesel.

i'm a sucker in buying used cars.
but i like to think, that the private car owner-seller is usually more honest than the bayan seller, and may agree to discount his price, compared to the guy who makes a living by selling cars.
