O nga! Kayo ang huling mga ma-swerte. Btw, maintenance-wise, gaano kadali o kahirap mag maintain ng Focus TDCi?
1st 10k PMS namin was less than 7k. 15k PMS less than 8k. PMS ba tinatanong niyo po? or pa-specify naman. haha. FC ko naglalaro sa 9-11km/L. we live in cainta tapos pag dinadala ko sa ust (around 45km balikan) kasya na 200pesos na gas, minsan may sobra, minsan kulang (depende sa traffic talaga). i gas up with V-Power Nitro+ Diesel ONLY. so that in the long run, malinis parin yung fuel system shizzles under the hood. no major issues with the car. minor issues: slightly off center steering (not bothersome), off paint at some areas (black kasi unit namin so di rin masyado pansin and i don't think ganun din sa iba). yun lang. hehe
I see. Pero yung availability ngengine parts outside casa? How was it? Gusto ko din ang tdci dami sa 2ndhand market, but im afraid im not a casa boy hahaha kuripot ini. No prob about suspension andbody parts. Dami sa labas kaso tdci is really WIK a peugeot sourced engine.
hindi ko lang alam eh. 1year palang samin yung focus and wala pa naman daw problems with anything and no replacement of any parts were needed. siguro mahirap hanapan ng engine parts to kasi ang alam ko imported from germany yung engine niya? tapos bosch din ata gumawa? merong bosch diesel center sa q.ave so baka may parts sila dun. pero i don't really know about the cost of parts. ang madalas daw na pinapalitan sa focus is the dual mass flywheel eh. afaik, diesel engines are tough.
dual clutch kasi. o nga sa bosch diesel center in banawe is recommended for high end diesel engines.
Pwede naman 07 TDCi sayo, basti. Actually kahit mga 06...
Tapos manual para masaya.
parang 8.5-9 seconds ata yun hehehe... I bet kaya din ng Accent ko yun or something close to it, ganon din sya kabibo sumibat eh. Pero brutal clutch launching nga lang. hehehe
This one Powershift.

Shouldn't base times off the stock speedometer. Stock speedos are notoriously inaccurate. By V-Box, the fastest I've seen out of a TDCi is around 7.5 seconds... that was far from stock, but we had issues with the ECU and wheelspin. With a perfect 2nd gear launch, a fully modified manual TDCi should do 100 km/h in 7 seconds flat, and a stock should hit 100 km/h in around 8 seconds flat. With a first-gear launch, best you can do is around 8.2 - 8.3 with a stock TDCi.
The Accent is nowhere near as quick, whatever C Magazine says. I've yet to drive an Accent that felt like an 8 second car. Probably 9.5 to 100 km/h with a tire shredding launch... but that's pushing it. More like 10 seconds. The problem is the Accent feels as powerful as a 1.8 liter engine between 2000-3000 rpm, but it doesn't have enough high rpm grunt to keep it up.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Is there an affordable device you could use in clocking your car's acceleration?
I can't accept a 9.5 sec 0-100kphhahaha it feels faster than that LOL ;)
Speedview for android, uses gps signal. Free lang. Not sure kung available sa ios
I have this notion that the GPS devices fitted on smart phones aren't precise enough to be used for timed launches. I've previously tried observing my speeds with the GPS on a Nokia E71 with Garmin Mobile XT, and it updated pretty damn slowly. I tried it with a newer iPhone 4S, and my acceleration still isn't reported real-time.
I tried checking how near my speedometer reading is to that of a bike (with a Cateye digital speedometer that used wireless magnetic readings based on wheel rotation). At 20 kph for the bike, I was doing 21. At 40 kph, I was doing 42. At 50 kph, I was doing 52. If I were to take the bike speedometer reading as accurate, then the car speedometer is roughly 5% off the mark at lower speeds. Of course, this changes as you go past road-legal speeds.
Tried it using Motorola defy. Real time naman nag update saka hindi nag kakalayo sa speed reading ng gps ng hu ko. Might be wrong though
na-try ko na gumamit ng GPS speedo. pero hindi yung 0-100kph sprint. okay naman kaso hindi lang siya real-time. parang may delay ata siya?
BTW, parang off-topic na. hahaha
GPS on the smartphone is way too slow.
Updates are up to a second slow, depending on the device. That means the launch will be tagged late... And at 100 km/h, most small cars will not be accelerating very hard, so the 100 km/h mark, though tagged late, will not be as late as the launch... Ergo... Presto... Short 0-100 km/h time
Best for avoiding lag that I've found is Car Performance, but you have to know how to correct for 60 foot time errors and overall lag (it has a plus minus adjustable compensation), and there, you still have to perform multiple launches to get it right... So I stopped using it. Too much of a hassle.
A V-Box updates GPS readings on a millisecond basis, and it has it's own internal G-meter to compensate and correct launch countdowns. With a VBox, you still get hash readings, but once or twice every hundred launches only (and usually only because of bad weather) instead of nine out of ten times like with e phone.
Test drove the Ford Focus today.
It is just W-O-W!!!
The Park Assist System is a nice aid. Makes parallel parking a breeze, it is more helpful for my sister though. I could park faster
The Active City Stop almost took my breath away. I thought we're going to slam at the back of that big Ford Focus butt painted wall. Impressive nonetheless, very good aid for that sometimes near misses. Appointments and features of the Titanium Plus is beyond approach of all cars in the compact segment, bar none. Power everything, including seats and that big sunroof, leather appointments, the amusing Ford Sync, power start/stop, Smart Keyless entry, auto climate control etc. This is a premium euro sedan content in a compact car contender. Nice Ford. Definitely, my vote is clearly for the Focus.![]()
