1.5M for a soon-to-be 7-year old SUV seems too steep for me. If I were you, I'd choose the newest, latest or youngest (whatever adjective you pick).

If you're intent with the Prado, try to look for a newer one. Baka pasok pa din sa 1.5M budget. (I assume this is your budget.)

If you're buying that prado from a buy and sell dealer, they normally have a markup of 500k on the prado.

I haven't had any major problems with my 2004 Prado. Except for that cracking dashboard problem. And that fact that it's not that powerful, as what EQAddict mentioned.

I suggest you test drive the 3 particular units you're considering and decide based on what feels right, assuming they're all in good condition. I'd pick the Prado. Then the Patrol. Biased na old school. Hehehe!
yeah what's with this cracking dashboard(nagtutuklap- prado parked in a covered parking). also have the same problem with our prado...

In a few months time, the bnew TBZ will just be another SUV no matter how much you take care of it. Just take a look at those mint condition Fortuners and Monteros nagkalat sila...But a mint condition 5 years and above Prado and Patrol, kahit papaano may kurot sa puso pag nakikita mo sa kalsada.

If Trailblazer, mas gusto ko yung North American 2009 version. Now that is a truck.

OPINION ko lang ito. Wala akong pakialam sa iniisip nyo!

    ^

That's how North American cars are built.

Kaya when I saw the current Trailblazer, medyo nadismaya ako. Too Asian looking yung kotse to sport the North American Chevy Trailblazer name.

Again, opinion ko lang ito ha!

    Wag kayo pikon talo!

Hindi daw ako nagbabasa. Yan ang mahirap sa ibang tao eh, nagkaroon lang ng subscription ng topgear or c magazine, akala alam na lahat.

    Oops, OT na.

Yeah, not many in that size bracket can eat the TBZ in terms of power. It's the other stuff that might matter to other folks

TBZ vs the Prado and Patrol are in the different categories the way I see it. Since the two belong to Luxury SUV then these two will enjoy longevity in the eyes of their fans plus with their higher price tags, they are more exclusive to the upper middle class buyers.

TBZ belongs to the Mid Size SUV so its a bigger market thus, it will be more common in the years to come. But this model offers value for your money in my view.

    Brennt,

Why don't you pay the TBZ a visit, get a test drive and see how it looks and feels? If you're happy with it, eh di yun na. Ang lamang niya kasi is siya ang pinakabago, so in terms of maintenance it should be the most worry free of the 3, giving you the latest technology. As with new technology, however, there could be some issues or bugs that are not yet fully resolved, and some parts that would cost more than old school turbo diesels. Read up on those na lang. Check out the Chevy forum on this board.

The Prado is indeed the oldest one of your choices. And it being expensive is in part a testament to its durability and reliability. Ok, let's add "perceived" to durability and reliability. It's not the fastest (it's probably one of the slowest or least powerful on paper) not best equipped (esp if you get the TMPI version), but it's pretty solid IMO. The 1KZ-TE is an old but reliable engine, and parts should be available at reasonable prices. If you find the ride too stiff, slap on OME shocks and be done with it.
