hmm... so the temp gauge was brought back with the i10? I wonder why they had to remove that in the first place when they introduced the FL Getzes and replaced it with an "idiot light"... good thing the Pre-FL Getzes had them.

I was also in the same dillema before dingch.
Buti na lang hindi ako naging triggerhappy sa pagbili ng small car at nagintay ako.
My choices before were the picanto, getz and jazz.
since there was news on the new jazz napilitan ako mag intay until nakita ko yung thread ni sir lui na ipapasok yung I10, I was really looking forward for the car with the least expectations as long as 1.1 displacement sabi ko ok na.
since masyado steep yung jazz when it was released at 707k we removed that from the list.
so naging getz(MT), picanto(MT) and i10(MT) na yung list.
dito na ako nag compare, my priority was just the FC since mabigat sa gas yung SUV namin 6-7km/l lang, And ako lang magisa nag dridrive every day di siya practical.
My qualifications for purchasing the car was engine displacement, curb weight and price. bonus na lang yung features.
Engine displacement.(my choices were equal on the engine)
Getz 1.1
Picanto 1.1
I10 1.1
Curb weight(from motioncars.com)
Getz - 985KG (MT)
Picanto - 941KG (MT)
I10 - 880KG (MT)
Price(prices from http://www.myhyundai.com.ph/ and http://philippines.kia-global.com/
Getz - 488K (MT)
Picanto - 560K (MT)
I10 - 490K (MT)
since medyo steep yung picanto sa price hindi na namin sinama yung picanto, naging Getz vs I10 na your dillema sir dingch.
Price wise 10K lang yung difference ng getz and I10 and ako lang naman nag dridrive daily I really don't need the space ng getz.
And my priority was fuel efficiency medyo mabigat yung weight ng getz at Getz - 985KG (MT) vs I10 - 880KG (MT) so medyo + ang I10.
For me I really didn't expect na maganda specs ng I10 pero I was surprised na for the I10 meron na siyang Driver airbag(MT), 3rd brakelight, foglamps, etc.... super bonus features na talaga for me.
Ang nagustuhan pa namin with hyundai was the warranty 5yrs or 100,000km what comes first warranty.
That's why the winner for me was the I10.
I used this links this might help.

C*#RD, i have to say, you post was concise and straight to the point! Why didnt i think of that? SUV din pala gamit mo and also looking for a second small car (am i right?). I like the extra space of the getz since from time to time (although not often) ill be bringing along my wife and daughter. But the "cool factor" of the i10 is really off the scale. Loaded talaga kasi...
Hmmm, family vs cool factor...Decisions! Decisions!

sir dingch, first day we got the car last saturday we were 4 I was with my gf, mom and sister. ok pa din ride pero you are right compared to the getz guaranteed mas spacious yung getz.
Anyways in the end it will still be you who will decide. balitaan mo na lang kami kung anong unit kinuha niyo sir. jazz na lang hehehehehe...

I'm an idiot with gear ratios, but what's the better car for stop-and-go traffic? Sobrang stop and go itong area namin, feeling ko tricycle capital of the world eh. That's why I only get a pathetic 4.5kms/liter on my Revo VX200. And that's why I need a micro car for my daily drive. Help naman with your inputs. I need a car with ample torque for low gear driving.

The Getz's first two ratios are too long for the engine. Word is Hyundai adjusted the ratios on the i10 to make for better driveability.
Indeed, from the brochures, the final drive of the i10 appears to be shorter, which should make for peppier performance. Won't know till we get one, though.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Ya they probably did change the ratios. Felt different when i test drove the two. I think the adjustment (if any) in the i10 made it feel more responsive. However, ive been using an automatic SUV for a long time now which felt slow and heavy so im also probably just not used to the brisk gear changes of a light manual subcompact.
Also the choices of colors in the i10 are more varied, sa bagay bagong labas nga naman. The remaining colors of the getz seems dated na kasi. Ganda ng oyster gray ng i10, available lang in manual not in matic.

btw, yung Getz 1.1L sa motioncars is inaccurate. The Getz 1.1L has power windows and central locking too. Keyless can be had if you make konting 'kulit' sa dealer. If you like AT variant mas ok ang Getz 1.4L AT. 578K lang or about 40k north of the i10's price. Note that the i10 1.1L AT does not have airbag too. Plus with the Getz 1.4L, you get all the features of the i10 AT plus a bigger 1.4L engine plus lots more room in the cabin.
