    hello mga gurus!

    Diba mas malakas sa gas ang 2.0 na car.. Ask ko lang, lets say sa 500 pesos na gas, gaano kalaki ang difference ng 2.0 sa 1.5 na engine? magkano ang difference nila?

    diba, sabi nila mas matipid sa gas ang mga 1.3-1.5 na cars.. ano naman ang advantages ng 2.0 na oto compare sa mga 1.3-1.5?

    at ano naman ang disadvantages ng mga 1.3-1.5 na engine?

    may balak kasi akong magpalit ng car next year, Im using a 2.0 engine kc. never pa akong nakagamit ng mga 1.3-1.8 na car kaya di ko alam kung malaki nga matitipid ko sa gas. kasi kung konti lang naman ang difference, baka mag-stick na lang ako sa oto ko. tnx in advance!

    sir, can you give us the specific car brand/model?

    a lot of the resident gurus here can give you some ballpark fuel mileage numbers for the usual 1.5L/2.0L car. pero imho, unless you're upgrading from a relatively old 1.5L engine up to a very new 2.0L engine, baka di magkalayo ang mileage. i've heard some talk about the new 1.6L VVTi engine having comparable mileage to a standard 1.3L engine.

    pero kung same generation of cars/engines, if both cars are stuck in traffic, chances are the 1.5L car will have an edge pa rin B)

    Marami factors my fren. In general, mga CRDi engines ang for sure na winner sa FC.

    U have to ask around whatever car ur thinking of buying kung ano FC nya. Engine displacement alone cant tell the tale.

    Malaki talaga. Kahit ung 1.6 ko na Sentra, tipid. And syempre ang full tank malaki difference. Mga P400-700.

    Dati may 2.0 kami na Nissan Bluebird, super takaw sa gas na kahit in traffic makikita mo bumababa yun gas indicator. Yun 1.6 i think is the best for Philippine driving and traffic condition, di masyado malakas sa gas tapos tama lang yun hatak. Yun 1.3 masyadong mahina yun makina unless you're driving a compact car like kia pride, pero kung corolla na 1.3, naku, hina.

    good example nito ay mitsu engine na 4g63 (2.0) at 4g92 (1.6) based sa mga testimonials and research mas nakakatipid pa minsan ang mga naka 4g63 (7-9km/l) dahil maganda nga hatak nito kaysa sa 4g92 (5-7km/l) na kailangan mo pa i-rev up para makuha ang power, anyway based lang naman sa testimonial to

    Like the others have said, there are so many variables that it's impossible to categorically state that all 1.5s are more fuel efficient than all 2.0s.

    Older engine designs tend to use more gas. And heavier cars tend to use more gas than lighter ones. I had a 626 with an FSDE engine that got only 5-7 km/l. My Lynx has the exact same 2 liter engine, but it's lighter and the engine is tuned differently, giving it more power, and the Lynx gets 8-10 km/l in the same traffic conditions.

    Older carburated and EFi cars are guzzlers compared to newer state of the art direct ignition engines, because newer designs use less gas at idle and tend to be tuned better.

    Between a brand new direct injection 1.5 subcompact and a brand new 2 liter compact or light midsized, the 1.5 will typically do 9-11 km/l in rush hour traffic, while the 2 liter compact will do about 7-9 in the same conditions. In terrible traffic, a 1.5 can do 7-8 whilst a 2.0 can do 6's. On the highway, it's more gearing dependent. A 1.5 should be able to do over 20 km/l in "super-tipid mode while a 2.0 should be able to hit 14-16, depending on the gearing and the weight of the car.

    ah.. sakin kasi is Mitsu galant SS 2.0. 4g63 nga yta ung engine nya. pro super light lang ang pagtapak ko sa accelerator kaya sa tingin ko naman tipid nman sa gas kahit papano. A/T kasi ung sakin, eh nabasa ko dito na mas mkakatipid sa gas kapag light foot lang. ang ginagawa ko na lang, bihira kong gamitin para tipid talaga. hehe! kaso iba parin kung araw-araw ko sanang gagamitin, kaso gastos naman.

    balak ko sanang bumili ng hyundai getz, kasi nababasa ko dito, sobrang tipid daw sa gas. kaso wala akong budget para sa brand new, kaya naghahanap pa ko ng 2nd hand na A/T.

    If you want to save fuel, AT isn't really the way to go.

    Depending on your budget, the older Honda City would be a definite buy. Don't know how fuel efficient it is with an AT (I don't like Honda ATs), though.

    Kung halos pure city driving, I'd suggest a sub-compact or hot hatch na 1.3-1.5. Kung gustong gusto mo naman ng AT, mag-CVT ka na lang.
