Accent for me bro... Mainly because it is diesel powered and a bigger (higher too?) vehicle...

i have a taxi unit accent crdi. at 130,000 km ang pinalitan ko palang is auxilliary fan assembly worth P2700(oem).suspension parts still intact.
regular maintenance na lahat like replaced/changed brake pads(P500.00), fuel filter every 20k km(P800.00 oem), air filter (P140), aircon filter ( P140), clutch disc (P2150 oem), pressure plate (P1800 oem), release bearing (P630 oem). and egr cleaning every 20k km DIY![]()
DIESEL doesn't necessarily mean it has better resale value. Old diesels, even modern CRDi tend to get noisier over time. And the Jazz has one of the most solid resale value in the Ph market.
Value for money - laki tipid sa diesel but maintenance is more expensive
Anyway, I'd pick the 1.5V Jazz even if it's older, it still looks very nice and modern. Lots of aftermarket parts if you want to set it up. Interior is very spacious and flexible and QUALITY is WAY BETTER. Checked out the Accent interior I find it low rent.
I don't own a Jazz or an Accent so just giving my take on these two cars.

parts.... i can say cheaper pa din ang accent... bec. is a hyundai.... then IMO Malaki ang price difference....
sa JAZZ kaya magkano ang AIR filter? fuel filter, clutch disk, brake pads...? compare siguro sa accent it will cause an arm and a leg...?
diesel accent or gasoline jazz....
value for money---- LONG RUN.... accent for me... because its more economical.... much cheaper pa ang diesel...
engine noise? mas noisy talaga diesel.... pero hindi mo naman naririnig yun sa loob eh.... and besides that, mas masarap iharurot yung may kunting gigil yung makina..... may pag ka sport's car feel ba.....
resale value... HMMMM........ IMO Accent pa din.... AFAIK same engine ng i30 yan accent eh.... mukhang subok nanaman.....
per my experience oem or replacement parts mas mahal ang honda(2006 hyundai jazz) compare sa hyundai/kia(2010 accent, 2008 rio)
Mas lalong umiingay ang diesel engines over time? I beg to differ. There are only three main reasons I can think of right now why a diesel engine will get noisier over time. Either something is clogged, dirty or you have a broken exhaust. So proper maintenance is still the key to problem-free ownership.
And then diesels pretty much always have better resale value than their gasoline counterparts whether they be old school diesels or modern CRDi's. Consider the gasoline powered AUVs/MPVs versus their diesel variants, Focus TDCi, Carens and Matrix CRDi versus their gas variants. The price difference is often in the tune of six digit figures!
Accent CRDi ko, tahimik pa din. And hindi naman magastos ang maintenance. No BS.
thanks for all the replies guys!
a follow up question lang, if ever i sell the car in two or three years time, which would have better resale value? Thanks!
What would be more "bagay" for a 70+ year old kung MT lang paguusapan? Ayaw kasi mag-AT tigas ng ulo
I'm leaning toward the Accent dahil I think the torque makes it easier for old knees in traffic.
They were seriously considering the Mirage pero they think it's too small and not that stable at highway speeds.

His old car was a Lancer. Previous to that he had an owner-type jeep. He wants an MT hatch. And he wants it in red.
Then Accent it is. HAHA.
