05 Honda Jazz or 05 Suzuki Swift?

thats a review of the 1.5 Swift vs the 1.3 Jazz. Dunno if thats apples to apples.

Nung binasa ko yung verdict di naman malaking issue ang engine performance either ng Jazz or ng Swift. Alam naman kasi yata nila na hindi sports car ang nire-review nila, hehehe. Eto yung dahilan bakit the Swift won them over daw:

Sinabi pa nga nila na yung Jazz pa ang may "reasonably willing" at "perky" engine.

Admittedly I've been a Honda fanatic since my first car pero di ba dapat Honda ang sumisigaw ng foul sa mga car reviews kung naagrabyado sila? Ano naman ang mapapala nitong mga nage-evaluate kung hindi objective ang comparisons nila? Wala kasing kadala-dala itong mga car mags na ito.... alam naman nila na they can't please everyone, compare pa den ng compare ng mga kotse

IMO, maganda ang exterior ng swift. Poging pogi.

Problem is, when I use a car, I spend more time inside the car. So whenever I buy a car, I always take into consideration space and comfort. Kaya nga, Jazz nabili ko eh. So far, no regrets.

i'm not really a fan of both. medyo malaking tao ako eh, naliliitan ako sa 2. pero both r cute....for me. b4 i both my car here in shenzhen( honda fit saloon), went to see both the jazz and swift and i have few observations..IMO.
SWIFT- actually mas cute sya, european-look, di ko lng gano type yung quality ng paint nya...looks cheap 4 me. tsaka ayoko ng may kamukha. headturner nga sya pero ssabihin ng nakakita "akala ko mini-cooper".... designer ako kaya gusto ko laging original look. interior.....ok lng sa akin....pero hindi ganoong kaimpress sa materials nya.
JAZZ- i prefer it's look, lalo pag asa sports look sya with all these spoilers, side-skirts, visor, grille etc. yung stock nya di ako ganoon kaimpress..but atleast it's original jazz look....di gaya gaya. interior...mas impress ako kumpara s swift. maganda yung materials at overall deisgn, color at ergonomics nya.

was able to test drive both....i like jazz better. mas gusto ko hatak ng makina nya...though 1.3 dsi lang natest ko.

tsaka ZAP.....be sure na totoo sinabi ng suzuki pasong tamo.....sabi ng agent ng suzuki d2 na ineexport nila swift sa pinas. ibig sabihin galing daw sa "suzuki changan", china swift natin dyan...at hindi japan.hindi kasi maganda reputation ng auto ng suzuki changan d2.....madaling maluma mga oto nila at hindi maganda quality...that's why they are one of the cheapest cars here in china....at hindi sila ganoong kabenta sa mga big cities d2 gaya ng shenzhen....iba pa rin honda...lalo if u consider the resale value, which most does'nt care to know.

i dont like either i prefer big cars kc like suv nag mz3 lang ko for school dahil sa gas concerns, pero pag gimik i drive an suv. pero pag kelangan pumili jazz ako hindi ko lang type ung swift

ganda talaga ng swift.... kung exterior lang sa swift na ko. may nakasabay ako sa may roxas, tingin ako ng tingin. hehehe. buti na lang trapik at natabihan ko. haha.

Btw, I noticed that the comment of my friends when thet see the swift. Ang madalas nilang sinasabi ay "ganda na tsikot mo!". Konte lang nagsabi ng "bago ang kotse mo ah!". Of course the swift looks brand new. It's just like if I bought a brand new crosswind and their comment would be "Bago sasakyan mo ah." Iba talaga yung "porma" ng swift. Malakas ang dating sa masa. Kahit yung mga tambay sa mga kanto, o yung mga ordinaryong masa, napapalingon talaga. Makikita mo yung magsisikohan sila at may binubulong sa kasama nila.

Lets not forget the honda jazz has been car of the year in japan for several years. IT wont be on top if it doesnt deserve to be there. Yes it lacks feel when it comes to steering but hey you dont buy a jazz for spirited driving, you buy it for practicaltiy coz of its space, fuel consumption and reliability. If you want spirited driving theres SPOON FIT set up which is a great track killer but give the jazz an open road and it will nick 200 kph. I already took my city vtec 1.5 vtec to 190Kph and still got some left to give. I can if given a chance make fun of 1.6liter cars coz they wont be able to outrun a 1.5 vtec engine hell even 2.0 liter cars would have a hard time leaving a 1.5 Jazz. FActor in traffic its hard to beat em hamsters coz it will zip thru obstacles like its sunday driving. Im sure the swift wont be far behind and yes I was able to drive a suzuki swift and I agree its got spunk as well but the Honda jazz is far better than the swift in terms of transmission (cvt compareable to the german trans) , fuel consumption, aftermarket parts/accessories, space, breaking (4 disc brakes compared to 2), resale value, service center availability and parts availability. Good points for the swift is that its got a better ride plus the novelty of owning one since you dont see that much swifts on the road and yes it looks much sweeter.

Medyo OT but glad you mentioned this. The other day, I was driving back from a beach trip ( had 2 sets of full scuba gear in the trunk) and this Black 1.8 (yes 1.8) Optra decides he wants to show off in the C5 going to Eastwood Area. He started about 2 car lengths ahead of me. We 'raced' in light traffic (about 9pm) for about 3-4 mins. Everytime, I would haul his car in and overtake him easily, then slow down due to light traffic ( i didnt wanna take the shoulder) and he would find a space in the traffic to go past me by a few car lengths. No problem, just downshift on the CVT and I would haul him in VERY easily again --- I could hear his engine screaming when I would go past him. Prime example: there is a long left then right hander (before it opens into a straightaway) near Market Market (Northward bound).... I was able to accelerate from the light traffic position to about 140-150 kmh here. Iwan siya by maybe 6 - 7 car lengths (no cars in between us that time to block him). Im sure he was pissed at me hahahaha. after awhile I got tired of the whole game and purposely braked in one of the long straights before a stoplight so he could catch-up. Hataw siya and of course since I was braking... he overtook me. I didnt bother to race anymore. We both knew who won hehehehe.

Sobra bagal ng mga Optra, sobra lakas pa sa gasolina. Mas mabilis pa yata yung dati namin 1.3 na corolla kaysa sa 1.6 A/T na Optra. may hatak nga ang jazz kahit yung 1.3dsi lang.

Before I bought the swift, the mazda 3 hb was my choice. Ganda kasi ng exterior and interior. Headlights and taillights ay the best talaga. Pero wala kasing dealer here in Cebu. Kaya wala AFTER SALES SERVICE. Kaya nagpunta na ako sa Honda Cebu to look at the jazz1.3 cvt variant. Nagustuhan ko yung Jazz dahil matipid nga eto. I have four friends who are happy owners of theseThailand made fuel efficient cars. Three of them fitted with 17's. The other one 18's and Mugen bodykits. The others with Spoon (?) kits. Anyway, back to the dealer. I gave the 20k reservation amount. The unit arrived a week later. But my money wasnt available yet til after a week later. But the salesman,instead of reserving the unit for me, sold it to a "walk-in" customer. So, a week later with my money in hand, I was told by the salesman that the jazz would be available 3 weeks after. That gave me the excuse to back out and get the swift instead. No regrets naman ako. I'm enjoying the swift. As expected, the swift is not as fuel efficient as the jazz.
