04 CIVIC or MAZDA 3?

Mazda 3 reminds me of the size and design of a BMW Z3. To compare with it the car known for its reliability, honda civic, I would say that it all goes down to gas consumption and design, since these are the only ones that would probably matter when comparing the two. Reliability has improved over the years of this Japanese car(partially owned by FORD by the way). The platform for this car is shared with Volvo S40 and european FORD FOCUS which has been enjoying terrific performance and costumer satisfaction over the years.

If you can afford this car, gas consumption would probably not an issue but if it is, Honda Civic would be the answer to that.

When it comes to car design, Mazda 3 gets my vote. The Civic's design needs a new one especially when its been sold like hotcake all over the world. It gets nauseating to see the same car every stop light and just about anywhere.

well the mz3's gas consumption is really that bad

yung 2.0 liter niya kaya up to 9 km daw per liter city driving ito yung pinaka mataas na nakita ko so far

yung 1.6 naman 8-9 daw pag highway 10-11

so it doesnt really differs so much sa civic right

pero yung 2.0 niya ganda performance na test drive ko very torquey

well if civic has vtec mz3 has s-vt

imo the package of mz3 is better than the civic

mz3 at the base model gets a 6 cd in dash player, 60/40 split type seats at the rear ito yung katulad sa honda city pero hindi pwede itaas yung upaan

4 wheel disc brakes, pag civic 2 wheel disc brakes 2 drums sa rear this is compared to the vti model

tapos isa lang masasabi ko sa interior of mz3 WOW ^_^ no offense to civic owners

medyo dull ang interior ng civic but in civic u have better leg room pero as for the mz3 it is not that bad roomy rin naman yung sa likod nyang upuan

also yung tranny niya is automatic na kaagad with manual overide kaya talagang value for money siya ngayon compared to civc

so if i were u place ur hard earn money in the mz3

well sana matest drive mo ang mz3 para malaman mo difference

When you say na yung mga minor bugs esp. the CEL prob na sa 1st batch lang, what do you mean? Say, yung stocks ngayon are all "worry-free" na? Yung warranty claim ba is valid even at Ford dealers (di ba Ford and Mazda are just 1 company)?

Confirmed ba na all Ford dealers sa area na walang Mazda dealers will honor the warranty claim for Mazda 3? I read in this forum na Ford Davao will, pero Ford Cebu will not... Ano ba talaga kuya???

Yeah, next year wud be fine marv0083, hopefully we won't be getting these feedbacks of defects of the first to roll units... he he he. Hope din na Mazda dealerships will multiply or Ford dealers will readily accepts services and warranty claims.... imagine you spending your hard earned money on something that you can't rely on?

Go with the Mazda 3. I've driven the Civic and I own a Mazda 3 1.6. The Civic has more power but, hey, if your not racing, the Mazda 3 is more than adequate. I've had a few minor glitches corrected during the first month but I could live with those. Build quality for the Mazda is not as good as Toyota's yet but it's quite good and I can never say enough praises for the exterior and interior design. Even if it's cheaper than most 1.6 class cars, I still get a lot for my money.

Already sold my car and I'm deciding on what model to get. these are my choices:

Honda Civic 1.6 Vti M/T
Mazda3 1.6 S

What I like about the civic is its new headlamp design and its vtec3 engine.. (low fule consumption n 130hp) looks so nice in white..
M just not sure if its the right time to get one cause the 8th gen might pop up in a few months time...

On the other hand, the mazda3 looks so "pogi".love the headlamp design, interior, the whole design itself.. but it doesnt come with a manual tranny, its engine only churns out 105ps.. some say that its a gas guzzler because of its heavy curb weight..

So guys i need ur opinion on this... Its really givin me a hard time.. its so hard to decide!!:confused:

The design of the mazda 3 (2007) is really nice and roomy. i drove one time the mazda3 of my friend, smooth kahit sa steering like my car honda civic (1.7). yung bagong design ng honda civic (1.8) 2007 maganda pero mas attractive ang mazda 3.
sabi nga dito sa Canada, mazda 3 ay parang honda civic this year.
fyi, halos pumapantay na ang mazda 3 sa bentahan ng honda civic dito.

Go for MAZDA 3 mas maporma .
