I know there a lot of factors to look at when purchasing a car. Let's say same models, both are okay and nagkatalo lang sa year and mileage ano mas important for you and which would you choose?

    Example:
    Car 1
    Year 2017
    Mileage 70K

    Car 2
    Year 2014
    Mileage 20K

Assuming the car is on the same platform generation. I'd go with the lower mileage. A check of the maintenance history needs to be done though.

    Mileage.

BUT, don't ever believe the mileage 100% if you are buying from a 2nd hand dealer. Kahit electronic pa yan kaya nila palitan yung odometer reading. Always check the maintenance record to confirm.

Thanks mga sirs. I always thought mas important ang year unless cguro if it is 10 years difference. Lower mileage pa din pala.

I agree. Mas safe talaga bumili sa mga direct owners.

The casa where I had my OJT, they have this term - "hugot". May hinuhugot daw sila para di tumakbo ang odometer and they will use the car to go around. I once saw this first-hand nung sinama ako maghatid ng mga tauhan nya yung service manager after the christmas party.

    Looking at the figures alone...
    Assuming everything else are equal.
SM North to MOA is 20kms, so 40kms balikan via EDSA

    2017 - 2 year old car
    *70k - 1,750 times in 2 years

    2014 - 5 year old car
    *20k - 500 times lang

This is a good point if you look at it this way. Cguro sa iba or like me, pag nakita yung year, we would think na the parts are newer as compared to the older car kaya mas okay ang mas bago pero hindi nakikita tong math na mas less gamit.
