Where to Buy 2nd-hand Car?

Hi Guys, What are the pros and cons of buying a 2nd hand car from 2nd-hand Car Dealers vs. buying it from the actual car owner/user? Also, do you know of a reputable 2nd hand car dealer (and those that give great deals) around QC or Pasig area? TIA

The disadvantage of buying from the Dealer is that they'll charge a mark-up. Usually 50k or 100k yung nakikita kong price difference sa dealers versus private sellers.

The advantage with some of the bigger sellers is that they'll usually detail the car and fix minor problems before putting it up for sale. Most of the time, it's "as is, where is".

There are unscrupulous dealers, yes, but there are also unscrupulous people posing as private sellers. Whoever you buy from, make sure you know where they live or work and that the paperwork is in order... if they seem shifty, evasive and don't want to meet at their house... you know something's up.

definitely mas mura sa direct.. pero kung ako sa iyo try to check the prices ng direct and 2nd hand seller.. tapos tawad ka na lang.. I would prefer sa 2nd hand seller para mas safe ang papers (assuming reputable dealer )... ang nakakainis lang sa direct minsan yung oras.. minsan hindi magtugma ang schedule.

btw, some direct buyers are pricing their car similar to 2nd hand car seller.

Pls recommend a reputable 2nd hand dealer.

There is a second hand dealer who posts regularly in the "car finder". Definitely overpriced and unrealistic pricing.

The last 2 vehicles we got (4 years apart) were through 2nd hand dealers. Magaganda naman yung mga nakuha namin (2 separate dealers). They fixed problems that we were able to spot before releasing the cars to us. Other issues, we fixed ourselves since they were relatively minor. Pwede namang tawaran, madali naman silang kausap. Some even accept trade-ins.

In both cases, sila ang bahala sa papers. Transfer of ownership, clearance, etc, sila ang lumakad. Hassle-free talaga.

Sorry if that's pretty much one-sided. The one time kumuha kami sa owner mismo, kakilala namin e, so the usual problems associated with going that route didn't apply.

saan kapa makakahanapa ng OK na 2nd auto na binebenta kundi DITO SA TSIKOT (CAR FINDER) . Naka benta ako ng 2 oto at dito ako nakahanap. Wala naman silang reklamo sa binenta kong oto sa kanila atleast di ako napahiya sa kanila nung ng recomend ako ng oto. double check pa din at road test mo muna bago mo kunin ang oto at yun ginawa ko.
