Isa akong OFW, I am planning to buy a VAN.

    These are my 2 options:
    1 Nissan Urvan
    2 Toyota Commuter

The Problem is, Php 150,000 lang ang budget ko!

Meron akong nakitang Promo sa Nissan Urvan:

    Php 138,000 (ALL-IN-DOWNPAYMENT)

    Terms (Monthly)
    24 49,709.01
    36 35,391.58
    48 28,300.75
    60 24,368.9

Kung Toyota Commuter naman bibilhin ko, I have to wait na makumpleto ang pangdown ko kc nung mag-inquire ako ay:

    Php 225,000 (DOWN PAYMENT)
Monthly Amortization (for 60 months) - Php 25,841

So Maybe, 5 to 6 months pa bago ko makaipon pandagdag.

I have some questions mga gurus: (your suggestion and comments will help me a lot)

PLS HELP ME, I NEED YOUR ADVICE!!!

Hehe~ With 150k pwede ka kumuha ng buong 90s na Hyundai Grace or Kia Pregio. In terms of design and technology, both are either at par or superior to the Urvan.

Kidding aside, Urvan na yung kunin mo. Mas maganda ang ride quality as compared to the Hiace and old school diesel engine means it can take more abuse as compared to the Hiace. Kung pampasada, I find the Hiace a tad too expensive. Besides, the Hiace's modern D4D engine will cost you an arm and a leg when you have to replace something. Although it really is punchy, fuel efficient and refined.

Sa lahat naman ng installment malulugi ka eh. This is where they earn big time. Pero since the situation calls for it, the 24 month installment should still be acceptable. With the money you spend for 60 month installment, makabili ka na ng Grand Starex niyan.

I do not run UV Express but I believe earning 25k/month from it shouldn't be hard. Here's a rough calculation. Kung yung 21 seater Urvan kinuha mo and lets say 25 pesos kada tao at naka limang round trip ka sa isang araw and the car runs 5 days a week, and suppose you consume 2000 pesos worth of diesel daily. So 20 persons*25 pesos per person=500*2=1000 isang round trip*5 round trips=5000 total earnings - 2000 for gas= 3000 daily take home pay*5 days=15000*4=60000 monthly earnings. Of course that is just a very rough calculation which I made to prove my point, and to keep the van in good condition you'd be spending for maintenance, which should be, say... roughly 4000 pesos oil change every 2-3 months or so.

Give it a little more time to earn more for your D/P. The lesser the monthly overhead you have, the better and the biggest factor there which you can control is the amortization.
