Need help to decide which to buy.

I have a budget of 140k for 2nd hand car. One of my colleague is selling his Toyota Lovelife 1999 power steering and all manual. 1.3 2e Carb engine, 155+k odo and first owner, car is in mint condition even the body, price is 150k, I would like to buy it but it bother's me with the carb since I preferred to have efi. Do you think that this is a good buy or look for efi like sentra series 3 etc. I need your expert advice. I need fuel efficient. Thank you!

Tingin ka sa mga sulit cars o car finder any brand will do, mag budget ka lng 100-120k kc yung 20k mo I budget mo na lng sa mga shocks, bushing or tie rod dagdag mo na change oil para maganda condition.

Mahal sya for an entry-level trim of the Lovelife platform. Puwede pa siguro kung yung 1.6L EFI model na Lovelife.

Kung di problem sa iyo yung gas, may kakilala ako nagbebenta sa akin ng Galant 98 VR (V6) na 120k lang!

well, definitely mas okei ang engine with a newer technology.

if you decide na kunin yang 2e, madili lang imantain nyan, kahit carb lang sya,
actually dahil nga carb sya, mas madali imantain.

hindi sya maselan and mostly, or even all talyers, have know how sa engine na yan.

if you decide naman na iba nalang and efi nalang ang kunin, be sure to double check everything.
medyo sakit ng ulo ang faulty sensors, and medyo mahal.

less power feature == less headache...
most of the time.

if you could haggle it down to atleast 120k, pwede pa siguro pagisipan kung kukunin.


and lastly, wag magmadali, napakadaming kotse na nasa 2nd hand market, madami ka pa pwede tignan.

thanks sa mga responds nyo. so mahal pala 1999 lovelife na carb sa 150k. ano kaya best option ko for 150k. ayaw nya kasi ibaba ang price. 150k talaga

Sentra B14 (96-00) puwedeng-puwede sa budget na 150k. Kung mayrun Lovelife Corolla 1.6L for around the same price, panalo din. Oks din yung big body Corolla.

If I may suggest, why not save another 150k and buy at least an above 2000 model car? There are 2008-2010 mazda 3s out there priced at 320-350k. Mahirap na kasi bumili ng super old car, sayang yung inipon mong pera tapos papasakitin lang ulo mo sa repairs. Sure it may look and feel mint now, pero you can never tell kung kailan magkakasira.

And if you want to have it ASAP, you can finance it thru banks. There are also lots of repossessed cars by the banks that you can finance directly from them. Galingan mo lang sa paginspect nung car. Use your 150k as DP and finance the remaining lets say 1 or 2 years. Yun nga lang you have to suck up the interest.

I suggest you look for a stock, well maintained Sentra, or any other car of your choice.

Yung mga pinagpipilian mo puro "bling" na yan. More potential problems for you in the future, if you decide to buy one of those.

Agree. As stock as possible and well maintained are your operative words. Stockness makikita mo na sa pics while the way it was maintained makikita mo sa inspection i.e. kung maingat ba gumamit ng oto yung nagbebenta or otherwise.

my take,

tawaran mo yung letter (a). kaya yan ng 130k to 140k and be happy at 135k.

kung papansinin mo yung A mas maganda at malinis set up niya. yung B, medyo salya at para maiba lang.

yung A base sa picture ang pinalitan alng eh magz, pero yung OEM nasa spare tire. at mukhang lowered (possible problem)

nissan is not known for fuel efficiency, but they have decent fuel consumption. i have a 99 sentra FE by the way. alagaan mo alng every 3to6 months alignment.

maganda ang handling ng nissan, mabilis at matibay. problem is, di matipid sa gas. nasa 6-8km/l pag city, around 10km/l pag hiway. if i have my way, ill go with the lovelife, carb type. matipid sa gas at napakadaling i maintain.

at 130k, as long as the magz is the same as the spare tire panalo ka na diyan.

una, mura ang gulong na 14" mga less than 3k sa branded tires and talagang drop dead sa mga other non - usual type of brand tires.

seconf, di ko type yung head lamps ng B dahil parang class a or hindi maayos retrofit lang yung set up at mahirap imaintain iyun lalo na yung adjustments at clearness ng headlamps.

yung accesories din niya imho di ko feel.

mas mataas ang FC ng Nissan S3.... Average of 8 kpl city driving.
you can get a Corolla Lovelife na EFi at around 160k.
mazda? malakas din ang FC nya.

pero i don't see any problem with the carbed Lovelife.... Yun nga lang medyo mataas yung price nung sa friend mo.
