Montly cost of owning a 2nd hand car? Need advise

Hi Tsikoters,

Recently bought a hyundai getz 2010. been reading a lot of threads on maintenance/cost of owning a car per month.
I'll be honest madami ako namiss on my checklist. ngayon ko lang narealize yung cost when owning a car..
thought it was just for parking,gas,amortization,insurance hindi ko nasama dito yung PMS (which is also costly), accessories (pampapogi at safety), Other expenses...

My monthly amortization is around 7.5k
Gas is 3k/month
Parking is 300 pesos/month (pagnasa mall lang siguro pagweekends kasi may free parking ako sa office)
Insurance/Registration LTO is 1.5k/month
Gulong,batteries around 300/month (matagal naman toh palitan so maliit lang nilaan ko per month)
PMS(???) not sure pa sa mga maintenance pero I guess around 1.5k/month dapat?
Accessories (third brake light, alarm, back sensor, mags, etc) 20k? pero one time big time na toh
Other Expense 500/month (kotong, hindi na mawawala toh i'm not a perfect driver nagkakamali talaga ako minsan at ang best way is maglagay hehehe... toll, car wash, etc.)

So in short I have to spend more or less 16k a month?!?!!?! (excluded pa dito yung upgrades/accessories kasi one time bigtime lang siya)

ganun ba kamahal to own a car? I'm a over-thinking guys? haha!

Main reason I buy a car is for convenient and safety, and I thought mas makakatipid ako kasi lagi ako taxi pag-umuuwi from office...

Please enlighten me guys! share nyo mga experience nyo at mga expense nyo hindi naman ako nagsisisi pero mas ok na yung handa sa mga expense diba?

I suggest not to think about the expense and just enjoy the car for now.

Fuel expenses depends on your route. Pede mo sya malessen ng konti by not driving aggressively.

Medyo magastos pa kasi you still have to pay month amortization of your car. Once matapos mo yun ok na yun.

Medyo mahal pa cost but safer ka naman. IMO, ok na yan at least di ka na nagtataxi. Come to think of it, nakakatipid ka nga sa taxi. Tingin mo ba safe ka palagi dun?

worry free muna, just enjoy your ride, baka kung ano mangyari sayo habang nagmamaneho kakaisip ng gastusin mo. chill

IMO mas unahin mo yung pag maintain ng engine, suspension, yang mga accessories or papogi, parang bonus na lang yan. kung ok pa naman mags at tires mo, why change it.. just foucs on your PMS and monthly amortization as well

Hay tama kayo! Gumawa ako excel sheet at masakit tlga sa bulsa no matter what haha! Pero i bought the car for convenience at pra worry free ako pagnagcocommute, its suppose to make my life better not worse... So dapat enjoy the ride ) mkkpunta nrin ako sa mga places hirap icommute at hindi n ako mgwoworry wla mskyn sa gabi ) look on the bright side ) thanks guys!!!!
