My wife would like to upgrade her ride. Her current car is a 2002 City Type Z. Her route is just from Paranaque to Makati then back.

Our choices are the Celerio,Picanto and i10.

I would like to ask the pros and cons of each of you guys to help us make a decision.

    Her needs
    - easy to drive
    - automatic
    - safety features
    - fuel efficient
    - minimal operating cost (periodic maintenance)

    Thanks for your inputs guys.

Btw we did not include the spark, fiesta, nor mazda 2 since our budget would not permit us to purchase anything higher than 600k.

i10 ako, as much as I like the Celerio more in terms of interior and exterior it only has THREE CYLINDERS!!!! The i10 has the 1.2L 4 cylinder...

Would you also consider the Hyundai Getz 1.1? P498k to P538k in price depending on spec.

*TS: How about a 2nd hand car worth below P600K? I'm sure you can buy one with still a few kms in the odometer.

It's a toss up between the i10 or the Celerio for me.

But between the two, really, I`d pick the Celerio for the fact that it's cuter.

Pero yes, cmiiw, AFAIK some Suzuki CASA's have horrible after-sales service.

Diba ang spark is under 600k ? Pero yeah, Chevy kasi baka tagilid din maintenance. Hehehe.

^^manual ata yung spark sir renzo. hehe.

for me, i10. The facelift and the updated engine wins it for me...

that pod-mounted tach on the celerio looks pretty cool though. hehe

For me, it's the i10. The Suzuki Celerio might be cute and all but the engine sound weezy when pushed to near it's limits which isn't that much and the shifter felt too low on the floor (at least for me).

The i10 feels better built among the three (but the Picanto is also very good). Handles well and rides comfortably, felt almost you are in a slightly bigger car. The fold down rear seats help increase the cargo space to twice it's original area.

IMHO i10 nalang. It was just recently refreshed, the 1.2L engine is the most powerful among the choices at 87ps/120Nm and it has the longest warranty.

Thank you masters for your replies.

MY wife is a fairly small lady (5 feet tall). That's why we are considering these cars. I forgot to consider that i'll also be driving the car sometimes and I'm 6 feet and some inches tall).

My wife has to personally try driving these units. She does not want to consider getting a second hand car because we are scared of accumulated costs we might incur repairing the car.

I'm leaning towards the i10 but she does not trust any Korean car brand, ,

Naku po, sobrang luma na po ang mentality ng asawa mo. Korean car quality is now at least at par with or even surpasses that of Japanese cars. Besides, the long warranty should say something about their reliability. Also, Suzuki's dealer network is pretty sparse with just only a handful of dealerships. After sales service is reportedly poor and parts would not be very abundant. BTW, if your wife is against Korean cars, why is the Picanto in the list?

    - Thanks for your inputs. I'm trying to push her to look at the i10 because of the 5 year warranty. . The picanto made it to the list because the Facelifted version looks really awesome.

The i10 is probably the best car in the segment at the moment. The fuel economy is much better with the MT, but the AT isn't too bad, and the gearing is very good at masking the engine's small size. A friend (Auto_Xer here, from Speedlab) says it's what he imagines BMW would build if it built superminis... I think that's going too far... It's more like a micro-Honda.

The Picanto is good, but the i10 gives you more for the money. The Getz gives you even more space, but I don't think the 1.1 comes with an automatic and it's not quite as refined as the i10. The Celerio's 3 cylinder is not as refined as the four cylinder engines, but it gives great economy.

I'd personally buy an i10. My assistant was car shopping a few months ago... We looked over his choices and we inevitably ended up at that. They're very satisfied with the car, and even take it on long provincial trips.

    Try before you buy, though.

    maraming salamat in advance.

The i10 would probably give you a better FC esp if you buy th M/T version and lear to hypermile. http://www.wikihow.com/Hypermile

sir iwas lang po sa text speak, baka magka-infraction ka.

BTT: hindi lang kasi FC ang importante, marami pa dapat i-consider. And the sum of it ang dapat magandang basehan.
