how do you search for a rare car (i'm interested in a 2000 accord vti-L 2.3 m/t)? safe ba yung buy & sell at used-car lots?

how do i inspect the car? panno ako makasisiguro hindi nagka-major damage yung car and well-maintained siya, and that hindi inatras yung odometer?

if i finally find the car of my dreams, what stuff should i do with it? kelangan ba palitan yung such stuff as the radiator, water pump, brake pads, fluids para sigurado?

and lastly, para sa mga may experience sa pre-owned vehicles, pa-share naman ng hunting, buying, and after-purchase experience (kumusta naman yung sasakyan)...

pasensya na sa daming tanong... i really don't know how to hunt for a used-car eh

I bought a 5 year old truck and other than the a/c evaporator and compressor shaft, wala siyang problema. You don't need to buy all those parts lalo na at 2000 model naman ang balak mong kunin.

Madali naman mahalata ang crash repairs, eh. Ewan ko lang, I seem to have knack for that. Check for overspray. Iyan ang biggest clue mo. Pati mangled license plates. Ok lang naman if the car has been in a crash, basta tama ang restoration.

ang pagbili sa isang used car kailangan matiyaga ka talaga . take time shopping .
make sure na hindi salvage title , always go for a clean title ni natter what , gaya ng
sinabi ni Sir Otep , the best way to find out if nag pa respray because of accidents or
worst comes to worst chassis damage , pop up the hood and check the edges , doon
mo makikita ang orig na paint .

    mazdamazda,

o nga e, gusto ko talaga ng rav4 pero masyado maliit sabi ng dad ko and di sulit sa tax-inflated price! ehehe... gusto ng dad ko cr-v pero ang cheap cheap ng feel, im not impressed. gusto ko M/T kaya out na yung camry and cefiro and accord...

that leaves a Civic RS and a pre-owned 2000 Accord M/T... sa ganun i think i'll be happier with the accord

for me, the test drive is the most important part in purchasing a used vehicle. yung sa body like mga dents ay madaling ayusin, ang sa mechanical ay mahal at mahirap. i really prioritize the engine performance over the condition of the body and chassis.

and try to stay away from "kargado" or "bihis" cars. maraming tinatagong defects ang mga yan. wag kang masisilaw sa price dahil most of the time, mas mataas ang price nila kesa sa same car na stock. (and ang dami rin nauuto na buyers).

i purchase a used car mga once a month. dealer kasi ako.

Dude, I would advice against buying from used car lots... dami silang "antics" eh.... Not all, but from my tambay experience....

    1) Scratches and other paint problems... Since their lots aren't that well lit, and most people aren't knowledgable in paint care. Nakakalusot sila...

    2) Scratch-Rust... Nung nagpa PDR ako sa Buendia, yung mga mayari ng stalls, they walk around, dabbing touch up paint in almost any visible scratch and imperfections, pati mga small rust (which will grow), etc, they just blob it on para matakpan.

    3) Interior... Dami sa mga dealers they smother the interior with air freshener and armour all, making it look untarnished and unfaded...

    4) Pwede-na-yan conditions - They usually have the car "fixed" for short term drives and stuff, para pag test drive walang problem. Naka rekta ang fan, disabled thermostat (to prevent overheating), rekta mga power windows, etc... those kinda things...

I would advice to take your time shopping, and try to go direct to the seller... Catch them off guard pag magtetest drive ka, usually kung sinabihan mo in advance, they'll warm the car up na before you arrive (yun pala hirap na hirap sa cold start), etc...

Have several choices and don't base things on looks alone... Malaking influence ang "at that moment" impression...

Ikaw ang buyer, pera mo yan, so spend it well...

well, depends on what you really want.

    what's your budget ba?

well, if you're looking for a 2 yr old accord, i'd say 800,000 safe ka na. mga ganyan ang bentahan nila sa second hand market.

just think it over many times. its kind of a big time investment.

    mbt,

Sometimes following your heart can be good also. Na-in love na ako. Five minute test drive, a thourough checking then the next day downpayment na.

Hanggang ngayon nakangiti pa rin ako driving my 6 year old truck. :D

I think for the accord 2000 mahirap i-reverse yung odometer kasi digital. I don't know kung may raket napa-atrasin ung milage.

Ako din looking for a corona 97 exsior na ayos pa. Bin to a lot of buy and sell car lots and so far walang pumasa sa taste ko. Just like what all of you said, maganda nga, makintab, puno ng air freshener at armor all, pero kita na yung mga banga and dents, na parang rinetoke lang dun mismo.

Gudluck sa car hunt mo pre.

what i would normally advice when you're car shopping:

THE TEST DRIVE SAYS IT ALL

the mechanical condition is by far the most important trait of a car.

sometimes, looks can decieve. many would think that a shiny, dent less car is the best buy. but in my experience, most of the time, its not the case. i've tried driving really fresh cars from the outside, but when i take it for a test drive, i hear strange noises from the engine bay and chassis. i back out from these types of cars because i know these are potential pains in the ass.

but, lately, what i observed among 2nd hand car buyers is that they really put emphasis on the exterior looks, and not the mechanical condition.

saka magdala din ng mahusay na mekaniko or just a decent one , they can
figure out just by listening to the motor and test drive is the last thing to do . maganda
