October 29th, 2012 11:08 AM #1hello po mga tsikoters im planning to buy a used fd this December and this will be my first car. I will be using this most probably everyday from starosa laguna to makati vice versa. my concern is what tranny should I get? mt or at?
if I choose at variant, what are the common issues with AT? like maintenance and replacement parts.
which tranny will cost less in maintenance? and for fuel efficient, how big is the difference vs MT?

i would still get the MT for the following reasons:
- cheaper maintenance
- you can control your gearing for fuel efficiency or power.

Ako naman partial to A/T, since yan route mo eh highway, very minimal na Lang difference ng fuel consumption if meron man...
Never na Ako mag drive or bibili ng M/T vehicles.
Check mo yun magnetic clutch ng compressor, knows issue yan ng FD

October 29th, 2012 12:39 PM #5Sir Shadow thanks for your reply. Tama po kayo from Laguna ako and siguro 80% is highway drive then yung 20% is within makati na po. nabasa ko nga po sa ibang forum and sa wiki na 5A/T sya. I just wonder if ganon ba kalaki difference nya sa MT when it comes to fuel consumption.

October 29th, 2012 12:40 PM #6Check first the casa history before actually checking the car. That way, you can initially assess it. If you are satisfied with the history, then proceed with the actual observation of the car.
