I agree that a diesel AUV would be the best bet to transport 8 people esp. if it will also serve as your daily drive. But to be realistic, prices start at around 300T for good units. There are actually banks that could help finance 2nd hand vehicles (Maybank, for example) as long as the vehicles are 2000 and up models.
If you stick with the original budget, you will be burdened with really old units that have seen their fair share of workload and have signs to show for it. If it is a van that you really want, a Kia Besta or a Hyundai H100 would also be in consideration aside from the vehicles you mentioned.
Just remember, buying a used car does not end there. Be prepared to spend, believe me, something sometime would break just after the purchase.
Do not be in a hurry, finding a gem would really take time.Last edited by Gerbo; May 5th, 2009 at 10:56 PM.

May 6th, 2009 03:43 PM #23Thanks for the sensible advise sir gerbo. Ganun na nga lang siguro, I will take my time and familiarize myself with other vehicles that you have suggested as well before deciding ultimately. Selegna is also suggesting an MB100. I will try to check the thread about it also. Sir Gerbo, how about a Hyundai Starex? if you are familiar with this vehicle, what would be the recommendable model?

MB100? a friend owns one. daming problema.
for one, yung interior plastics nya, parang nalusaw and na deform dahil sa init.
pangalawa, dalawang beses na sya nagpalit ng ac compressor.
mas mukhang ok pa yung Pregio, imho.

Look for the 2nd gen Millenium edition as it is the best buy prior to the GRX model.

yes i own one, for more than two years now i dont have any problem with this van, dependable. i got it with 45k only on the ODO. Patience is the key in buying second hand vehicles, dont rush just look at all possible opportunity.
Meyor is right, i got mine at 270k.

May 7th, 2009 02:59 PM #30Sir Selegna ayos pala ang pagkakabili mo ng MB100 at less than 300k. Currently reading through the MB100 thread as per your advised, dami na pala posts doon at talagang maraming matututunan. medyo patalon talon ako ng thread dahil sa haba. hehehe. so far may mga nabasa akong posts ng mga owner about defects and gastos, seems may kamahalan yung iba ah. at same defects kaya by another brand eh ganun din kalaki ang mga magagastos?
Yikes that(tesla) is even worse although upon some additional reading i'm not even sure our Seagull...
