Hi guys! I might be getting a car around Feb or March next year. I only wish that it's easy to drive (and park!) and it has to be A/T. Mostly for city driving though from time to time NLEX/SCTEX when I go home to the province.

Since I'm getting it under my company's car plan, technically eh cash transaction 'to with the dealer so I'm expecting some discount. My budget is around 750k once net of the cash discount na.

I'm looking at Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2, Honda City, or maybe even Lancer GLS/GSX (basta not the EX). Which one is the easiest to drive (for novice driver) and maintain?

    Some concerns:
    1. Fiesta & 2, hindi ba sila mukhang toys? hehe. And pahirapan ba 'to sa parts?
    2. Ung City naman ok sana but I feel over-priced cia? And honestly mukha ciang Transformer / Autobot. hehe.
    3. Lancer, old body pero mukhang ok pa naman ito pag na-dress up?

    TIA!

    I'd recommend

    Jazz 1.5 - Php 842,000
    Jazz 1.3 - Php 782,000
    City 1.3S - Php 771,000

If you really cannot do anything about the budget:

Vios 1.3E A/T - Php 720,000 - (I believe you can still get Php 20K-30K off this price).

    RE: Ford Fiesta

Despite what the fanboys (those who keep on pushing it on the other threads) say, this is not worth getting bec. it is too cramped (in terms of cargo, passenger space, etc) when compared to the competition. Want to be like Ken Block, requiring a car that handles like its on rails (again, in comparison to the competition) ? Then get the Fiesta. Everything else go for the competition, esp. the Jazz.

Well its going to be a lot easier to repair just in case... Frankly every new driver will get into an accident sure yun... Bumps here, bumps there... Its just natural, I started with an old car myself...

Does it have to be new? ... I might suggest a two year old Corolla Altis 1.6L if 2nd hand units are on the choices.

Honda Jazz 1.5! Panalo sa looks, performance and fuel efficiency!

Ang options naman talaga before is a second hand Toyota/Honda or kung ipipilit kong bnew, Lancer. Pag Lancer Bnew na ung makukuha ko for the price of a 2nd hand Altis or Civic. Di nga lang kasing porma pero priorities din, function over form po muna. Pag na-adjust na ung limit ko pwede ko na padagdagan ng at least 30k worth of accessories pampa-gwapo, zero cash out pa din.

Minsan ko lang pwede gamitin ung car plan ko, need to make the right choices. Balance between budget, practicality and wants. Haaayyy.....
    maam,
may car plan ka naman pala, so bnew na lang bilhin mo. pwede mo sigurong isipin na parang marriage yan purchasing of first car. may chance talaga na magiging sour or mag-aaway kayo pero best wishes pa rin. at gagawin mo lahat ng ingat para di masira. saka kung mabangga, may insurance naman. kahit mayupi yon car, ang mahalaga mahal mo pa rin sya.

for me maam, ill go for Bnew Jazz 1.5v. I own a fd 1.8s maganda nga ang porma pero yung FC ang baba. May classmate ako nagpabili ng jazz 1.5v. Very fuel efficient kahit ako nagseselos kasi maganda na porma matipid pa sa gas.
Jazz with back sensor=Easy to park+Nice FC+porma pa

mga sir.. so far, mejo leaning towards Jazz na ako. mukhang kakayanin naman ng budget brand new jazz 1.5 a/t but this is a stretch (and i'd like to avoid it as much as possible since i have my MBA to pay for)

    what's your opinion on a bnew 1.3 A/T vs. 2nd hand 2009 1.5 A/T?

    TIA!

The problem with the bnew 1.3A/T Jazz & City is that there's no significant difference with the 1.5 Paddle Shifter in terms of fuel consumption kasi po you tend to step on the accelerator harder to squeeze it's performance, in other words, it's a bit sluggish. On a positive side though, ang matitipid niyo sa pagkuha ng lower trim ay pwede niyong ipandagdag sa mga research works niyo sa Grad School sa halip po na kumuha kayo ng top-of-the-line Jazz.

The problem, however with the 2nd hand 2009 1.5 Jazz & City is that there is a high tendency that it's an Ondoy Car or it was already used and abused by the previous owner.

Honda Jazz 2009 model kana na 2nd hand. Actually yon ang hanap ko ngayon to buy for my GF. Its updated sa styling same lang sa mga brand new ang mukha tapos makakuha ka pa mga 500k for 1.3 matic (brand new is 762K i think).

hi sir! it doesn't really have to be new. My boss was actually recommending the Altis for me din, we were looking at 2008 models the other day. Prices were at around 700k, I think that's for a/t v or g model. Is that a fair price?

First Car for a new lady driver :)
