Take this advise. Get a bigger one when you can afford it.
    Huwag lang red Eon.

Get a cheap second hand car.

Getz, small body Corolla, Gen 1 Vios, etc.

Kung matuloy kayo lumipat in Sucat or somewhere else, at least you have a daily drive.

I would not recommend a brand new unit at this point. Scan the olx pages for relatively cheap but decent car models.

I am just having this dilemma.

We are planning to buy a car (Honda City) because we are planning to have a child.

We are renting our apartment now worth 15k, and additional 3k for a parking space. This is in Makati, and we just commute for 30mins and we are in the office.

However since we are planning to buy a car, 18k is too much for a rent, plus the additional cost of maintaining a car.

    My dilemma:

    1. Should I continue with the 18k rent?
    2. Should I look for a place (rent-to-own) but we still haven't looked into this option yet as we are not decided on what city to settle.
    3. Mother-in-Law is offering their place in Bulacan ~ 50KM away from office in Makati.

    Your opinions are all welcome
    honest to goodness opinion.
move to somewhere closer where you can walk to work or
continue with the rent, but shelve the plan to buy a car.

if you are still commuting 30 minutes to work, i personally feel that the 18k/month is still too high. why not consider moving to somewhere near, na maski 20k/month pa yan, pero pwede kang umuwi pag lunch. mas sulit.

owning a car has some additional expenses. hindi lang yan hulog ng MA and sakay and you are happy. you have to think about the maintenance costs, fuel and parking costs.

since wala pa namang child, enjoy nyo muna. imagine, malapit lang kayo nakatira sa work nyo, walang baby, walang car.... so walang problema.

Bulacan is too far, imho it will not only drain your resources, it will also drain your energy na pagpasok mo, pagod ka na, pag uwi mo, mas pagod ka na.

focus on your work first and your wife first.... darating din yan. hwag magmadali.
and ipon ipon din..... i am sure, sobra yung kinikita nyo magasawa sa inyong dalawa.

    sir,

were almost on the same situation. were expecting a baby din. the only difference is were not renting..

my wife wants to have our own car (were just borrowing fro our parents)

our option is to get a second hand car

so somehow we still have enough savings. hindi yung sakto lang masyado yung pambayad sa monthly
