Checklist: Brand new car delivery

Good Day Fellow Tsikoteers!


I would like to know what are the checklist needed, inspection before the car goes to its final delivery. Does the Car company provide their own checklist before the final delivery? if not, must the buyer be knowledgeable to provide his own checklist if the car company fails to provide their buyers checklist?

Exactly 1 month from now my family will be getting a new car which will be delivered here at our place in visayas. we have paid the reservation fee and i would like to know if the car company will provide us "Buyers Checklist" or inspection certificate before the car will be delivered into our doorstep..

Final car inspection checklist before final delivey, does the car company have this? if not, how should the buyer know? can any of you provde links what to expect during final delivery inspection... thank you!

Sir I believe every brand has its own Pre Delivery Inspection checklist. Hingin mo na lang sa SA mo, pero dont rely on it too much. Use it as a guide lang.

Make arrangements na early part of the day mo makuha unit mo para hindi ka magahol sa oras. Inspect, inspect and inspect. Huwag kang manghinayang na wag tanggapin ang unit kung hindi ka fully satisfied. Its your money, you dictate the terms.

Things to check:

-dings, dimples, paint imperfections ( minsan hindi talaga maiwasan magasgasan during shipping. minsan nga may mga panels na retouched na e. saka kung ung unit mo e matagal na nakastock sa "yarda" malaki chance na may water marks, bird droppings etc na yan. )
-fluid levels
-interior nook and crannies ( may thread dati re 1 nissan may mga weird na dumi sa loob, meaning to say hindi 100% factory fresh ) you may also insist that prior to delivery ay huwag nila tanggalin plastic cover ng sidings, floors and seats.
-all acc are functioning esp alarm, HU etc
-then road test mo kasama SA bago ka pumirma. Pag iba ang performance example iba tunog/kalampag compared sa test drive mo, insist on another unit.

Wag ka papayag na idiscourage ng SA mo na kesyo mahirap magpalit ng unit since "minor" lang naman ang diprensiya. Tandaan mo once na pumirma ka, pahirapan na yan pag may defect. May warranty nga ung unit pero bakit mo naman gugustuhing magclaim ng warranty e kung maiiwasan mo naman un in the first place kung maagap ka lang di ba?

well, you can only check so much naman, so i think rst619's list is enough already. i personally checked my unit's lights and accessories (HU, alarm) carpets and trims. checked fluid levels and body while sa CASA kasi pick up ung aken. i preferred fresh from them unit ko. pero, may nakalusot pa ren sa ken na imperfections sa paint sa trunk part.

Nissan Gallery Ortigas provided me a checklist as well, but as mentioned above guide lang talaga cia.

I had them connect Consult sa unit ko para macheck ECU (timings, idling, etc) pero okay naman lahat.

Btw, removing the plastic covers is free of charge. Don't know why most Filipinos still have the plastic covers on their 5 year old cars. :lol: Saving it for the next owner?

Those plastic covers do not conform to fire safety standards if that's important to the user/passengers.

I suggested that only as an additional indication ( well, sort of ) that the unit is at least indeed out of the lot. I've had friends receive showroom units and/or not so fresh units being passed out as "brand spanking new".

pag may plastic cover pa yung cars... pinoy yun

btt... check the upholstry... minsan yung mga cars na 'driven to casa' instead na naka flatbed, barubal yung mga nagmamaneho... open windows, yosi ayun madumi... one owner complained that yung upholstery nya meron cigaret marks...

and always remember yung comment ni rst619... pag napirmahan mo na yung release order, pahirapan na yung warranty...

Check if all the documents are in place. OR/CR, Owner's Manual (and other Manuals if any) and the Warranty Booklet.

Check if the OR and CR match the vehicle delivered to you (i.e. Correct owner's name, motor number, chassis number that matches your car, color, displacement, etc.). Had a bad experience of receiving a CR which did not match the car delivered to me. I only discovered it when it was time to sell the car.

In some dealers, pwede ka pumili if they have several stocks of the model/variant/color you purchase. Especially if personal car purchased thru company PO. Advantage is you can choose the ‘coding day’, though pwede pa ulit magbago pag lumabas na actual license plate.

Not necessarily. Some casas don't have car carriers so their units are delivered the conventional hinaharurot way.

Matakot ka pag 0.00 km reading yung odometer. Meaning niyan binunot yung gauge cluster and baka pinaglaruan hehe. I'm thinking it had to be driven around the parking lot kahit papano.

they have to drive from the factory. kahit papano, ay gumulong yan. less than 100 km is about acceptable.
in my experience, i had something like 79 km and 42 km.
