    just got hold of the vios (after more than a month of waiting) yesterday for the wife. agent said we were lucky because prices will go up 6% by next month. (hindi pa nagdedeclare si fpj na tatakbo syang prez sa lagay na yan.)

    malamang. nakontra kasi yung benefits ng excise taxes sa mga sedans ng depreciation ng peso.

    agree with Happy_G,

    Yan ang iniisip ko noon pa sa discussion ng excise tax law. All the benefits of the excise tax will be cancelled out by the almost continuous Peso devaluation.

    But on the other side, if we didn't have the excise tax and the Peso continues to slide, we'll have higher car prices than what we have right now. So I guess, in a way, excise tax is okay.

    Devaluation ng Peso vs. the US Dollar ba kamo
    ang reason?

    That's been a mystery to me. Don't they import
    these cars via Japanese Yen?

    TJ, in a way yes. but remember that if the peso devaluates against the dollar, it also devaluates in any currency.

    Baka pagnanalo si Da King magkakatutuo na yung sabi ni Lucio Tan na eventually aabot na ng USD 1 = P100.Mukhang dito na ako tatanda sa overseas...

    only cars who came in here as CBU will be affected by these...

    but those that are being manufactured here will relatively remain the same (escape, lynx, AUVs, etc)
