:hihihi: Now, not everyone in Pinas has a sibling from a multi-national company who walks-in to the dealership to get a discount.

In Philippine setting.
Never get the First insurance that was offered. Even if its brand new and from a bank loan. You still can choose accredited insurance company by the bank. Not from dealers. Usually they will give you expensive insurance.
Always ask for receipt for everything. Ive seen in dealership, salesman taking advantage of the excitement of customers. (lalo na 1st time buyers)
Inspect the car bumper to bumper. If theres a problem, insists a replacement if its necesarry. Mahina ang Consumer rights dito, mahirap mag claim ng warranty at hirap din mag english.
It was said before pero
YES dont trust sales people.
Good points Max! I would hate to be a sales person on this website! If they were, I bet they would deny it!![]()
the rustproofing is free..its a waste naman if we didnt avail of it. are we that sure that within the 3 year period that the car won't rust? we dont know that. better to have it rustproofed again rather than saying in the end that we should have had it rustproofed from the start.
If its free, sure, but its the same thing as saying "don't worry, I'll throw in the engine and seats, no charge, if you buy the car" Its already on your car! As a matter of fact, I know it won't rust, if the coat is intact. No oxygen, now water leaks. Only if the car is damaged, and the barrier breached will the underlying metal rust. Another thing is that a majority of parts that used to be metal are now "plastic" or "fibre glass". (check your wheel well)Originally Posted by zechs
is it an option in the philippines to walk in with insurance already approved, so you don't have to worry and/or haggle about it?Originally Posted by MAXBUWAYA
sa dami ng insurance dito sa atin you can insure your car kahit phone call lang at send them a check or deposot cash thru bank, just try to get the details din ng unit. chasis and engine no.
So kung kukunin nyo na, you can call first the insurance company to tell the details, or ask the dealer na ifax ang detail sa insurance co na choice mo. In case may problem ang unit, madali naman papalitan iyan sa insurance company. Take note na ang kung loan iyan, you cant drive out of the dealer ng walang insurance iyan.
dati kasi ito ginawa namin. as far as i can remember.
And always ask for a cold drink damn it!!!!!
hehehehehe
Bro, check the cars trunk and other hidden areas, chances are the rustprooving seeped thru, ganyan nangyari sa Civic ng friend ko, we were installing his subwoofer, and found some rustproofing residue in the trunk. Undercoating would be a better alternative IMO.Originally Posted by zechs
It depends on the dealership, if they're not doing so well, they might throw in the insurance and mortgage for free. They also might waive the discount if you don't get their inhouse insurance, they also might make it a requirement if its a hot item.Originally Posted by M54 Powered
Kung magpa rust proof ka as an option sa dealership, how long is the warranty? Kse, AFAIK manufacturers carry a 5-year warranty on rust.
AFAIK its still 3 years/100,000 kms or 2 years/50,000kms depending on brand and dealership.Originally Posted by Karding
Okay, 3-years pala. Pero ang rust proofing ng dealership, how long does it last?Originally Posted by ILuvDetailing
mmm... I don't trust rustproofing aside from factory rustproofing, specially here where they drill holes. Our Honda CRV had rustproofing applied but not from the dealership, so far no problems, same with our Revo, both are around 2 years old. I'll give it around 3-5 years maybe less since we near Manila Bay where air is salty.
lmao...i bet that because of that, this 'rustproofing' process will actually increase the risk of rustOriginally Posted by ILuvDetailing
Maybe to reach hard to reach places, friend of mine told me even the inside of the door panels gets treated... medyo overkill na to.Originally Posted by Karding

hmm..matanong ko nga sa SA namin yung procedure ng rustproofing sa casa..if they have to drill holes just to get the hard to reach areas eh di shortcut yung procedure nila. dapat tatanggalin nila lahat then spray on the rustproofing..

Don't they just spray that black goo on the wheel well and the underside of the car? Drilling doesn't make sense.Originally Posted by ILuvDetailing
Ok we live in Ermita area, which is a walking distance to the Manila Bay (three streets away). Would you still consider the air in this area salty?Originally Posted by ILuvDetailing
