Hello po. Sorry po if makikisakay po ako sa post nyo sir. Balak po kasi namin bumili ng car for the first time. And budget po namin is 200-250k but sa mga nababasa po namin is baka 200k lang po ang malaan namin for the 2nd hand car para po may 50k na reserve for repairs/replacement. Naghahanap hanap po kami Online and ang napusuan po talaga namin is yung 2010 lancer gls cvt a/t po which is 210-230k posting price. We have zero knowledge about cars po. Okay po ba ang lancer model po na balak namin bilin? Ano pong mga alternative cars ang pwede din po sa budget namin considering din po ang FC at maintenance cost.
Thank you po sa inyong lahat.
that honda city 2008? i have no personal experience with it. however, i read that...
because of its looks, some critics have given it the ungainly nickname of "honda ipis", a far cry from its supposed dolphin-inspired design.. personally, however, "i like it".
it has 8 sparking plugs, as against the industry 4. hassle if you DIY. ok lang if mekaniko does it. sparking plugs are not that expensive nowadays, anyway.
i believe its AT (CVT!) has gained notoriety, because of its seeming unreliability. nag-tuturuan ang casa (user did not follow the prescribed cvt fluid schedule and type) and owner (i did, and it still mal-functioned).
some experts say, if you really want the car model, buy the MT variant, to avoid transmission woes.
i vaguely remember something about its rear seat versatility, but... inu-upuan lang po namin yan, e. no need for versatility for us.
it's not a large car, po. try it out for size, first.
other tsikoteers, especially howners, please chime in for your thoughts.

these are the nissans being used as taxis today. you can recognize them easily by their huge rear lights.
by today's standards, the design and technology are ancient, but... it gets the job done in relative comfort.
unlike the ubiquitous older vioses costing significantly more, hindi sila siksikan sa loob.
Good to see this thread still alive and active.
Btw, update lang, di pa din ako nakakabili ng car ko. [emoji23]
Had to postpone, nagdagdag budget for parents' car. They bought an Adventure. So far, okay sya.
Maybe I can get mine na lang once I found a new job na mamahalin ko at mamahalin din ako ng tunay. [emoji28]
I hope this thread will continue more and more. Sarap magbackread for the likes of me na tight ang budget to 300k.
The Adventure is a decent ride. Cheap to run, can function as minibus or moving van yet small enough to be easy to park in tight spaces, not afraid of potholes and floods... The ultimate basic city transport!
Should the engine ever conk out on you one day, though it is quite unlikely, you may even consider installing a 4D56 TDIC, or 4M40! [emoji848]

I remember seeing an Adventure with a swapped engine for sale online. Didn't see properly if it was 4D56TDIC or 4M40.
I remember a long time ago, my uncle had a 3 door 1st gen Pajero. For some reason or another he managed to blow up his original 4D56. Apparently he found a surplus Pajero wreck, took out the 4M40 and mated it to his existing manual tranny.

On a L300 fb already saw a 4d56 turbo but without intercooler swap.
I'm pretty sure iba pang ilalim ng adventure and pajero.
Did your uncle had to replace springs o shocks?
Yun pajero local 1st gen. kasi feeling namin mag bo-bottom out na sa 4M40. I sure 300t kms worth of worn out springs and shocks did not help either. I think the 4m40 is a good 100lbs more than a plain jane 4d56.
