Ganun po ba sir? Btw, ano po gamit nyo? And what can you suggest po out of my limited budget? May times din pala na I travel the Litex-Montalban Road. Pag nakikitulog ako sa isang kamag-anak.

    Mirage ang daily ko.
That litex motalban road... That road is littered with craters especially after the the rodriguez highway.
If you are travelling that road, might as well get a crossover/auv/suv type.

True, that. If you drive it, it may spoil you for any other subcompact hatch though. [emoji23]

In terms of fuel and maintenance costs, the Crosswind really is king. Purchase price is a tad high, though it will also be very easy to sell come resale time. But you'd have to be careful with regards to black smoke, which it seems to be very prone to.

O nga po e. Grabe pa ang resale ni Crosswind. I have a neighbor selling his XT 2004, kaso may usok na daw dipstick. Price though is less than 200k.

Such cars also tend to have very high mileage, since they are, after all, utility vehicles.

If you do not mind resale value very much, I'd much rather recommend the 1st gen Everest. It makes the Crosswind look grossly overpriced and underequipped in comparison. With regards to FC, I suppose the trick is to not let the turbo spool as much by keeping the revs low and maintaining an acceleration rate similar to what you might normally do in a non-turbo AUV.

Ano bang year ang 1st Gen Everest? My dad actually likes it so much way back when we were looking last year for his own service. Diniscourage ko lang since it's a Ford, an American maker na masakit "daw" imaintain. Hihihi.

2004-2006, IIRC. The Ford badge is actually beneficial in the sense that Ford's reputation in the Philippines is mahirap makakuha at mahal ang piyesa and matakaw sa gas so that purchase price is lower than most other options in its class, when in reality the 1st gen Everest and Ranger were 90s Mazda technology which Ford rebadged and totally unrelated to cars like the Expedition, Explorer and E150. If you go to the Everest threads, you'd find more than a few Tsikoteers who are satisfied Everest owners.

The hatchback looks good and the 17" rims add more bling to it.

Blowby..hindi na alagaan yan. Very bad oil change intervals causing piston ring damage.

it can be cured, by replacing the worn parts.
    "overhaul".
the cost will depend on what parts need replacement.
    but it is usually $$$.

Any feedback to 2005 X-Trail? Marami ako nakikita 250k or less. Parang relatively mas mura at maraming nagbebenta.

Also, any feedback din sa automobilico? Parang mura din sakanila ah, almost same price as direct buy.

Gasoline crossovers are typically hard to sell due to high fuel costs. Nissan has always had poor resale value in the Philippines due to quality issues in the early days. Nissan na gasoline crossover pa, so double whammy kaya mura. [emoji23] Same goes with Ford Escape.

Have not have experience with automobilico. But most big buy and sell shops price so ridiculously high I believe no one in their right mind will buy them. I suppose automobilico has found the pricing strategy that sells cars the fastest.

Takaw daw sa gas ang Civic. Better get a City "daw" instead.

Gas consumption is quite relative. For its engine, the Civic’s 1.8L consumes gas like other cars with a 1.6L engine.

If fuel expense is a key concern, be contented with small cars like the City or Vios or even something smaller.

Yup. In my case, fuel efficiency is a main factor.
I'm glad na may ibang tsikoteers din dito na tulad ko na limited din sa budget. Hence, mejo humahaba na itong thread. [emoji4]
And to all of who shares their expertise, a big thanks.
