    at that price range,

    1. "prepare lots more money", for repairs.

    2. "be extra wary of ex-taxis!".

    3. make sure of documentation.

    serious!

For daily car ba or for weekends hanap mo depends sa purpose mo.

You can check sa mga old corolla's forum or owner na no more time restoring her corolla or change of plan
(big boby or small body corolla).

if you have patience try scouting sa mga houses na abandoned corolla na di na nagamit good start as long as hindi ba sobrang rusty ang body.

the 1989 small body or the 90s subsequent big body?
i think, these are probably the only ones that will fit the budget.
    heh heh.

but with money and the correct restorer, the big body can be made to shine, argueably easier than other cars of similar age.

    kailangan pang i-pagawa.

Medyo mababa budget if you're after the front wheel drive units of the 1990s.

And even then, dapat mag budget ka for repairs, since malabo na buy and drive lang yung mag units na ganoon katanda.

    Hi everyone,

Im looking to buy an old car too. Im aiming to get an old Corolla 99 to 00s lovelife MT. Budget is at 170K. I just want to ask some questions that has been bugging me since Ive decided to get this model. Hehe. Anyway, here it goes:

    1. Ano ang average fuel consumption nya?

    2. Magiging daily driven sya. Magiging sakit kaya sya ng ulo?

    3. Availability ng parts? Marami pa bang available parts ang ganitong unit?

    4. After all repairs, tatagal pa ba ang ganitong unit kung daily driven?

    Thank you.

PS: sorry kay Dhex089. Nakiride na ako sa post mo.

Lovelife Corolla was an evolution of the big body. So essentially, same engine/transmission/possibly suspension parts.

Pag used unit eto lang naman yung titignan:

    1) Timing Belt
    2) cooling system
    3) suspension parts

Suspension - shocks ball joint CV joint Rack end stabillizer link.

For an old Corolla, I will try to look for something maayos pa yung body...

Madali palitan lahat (engine, suspension etc)...

I'd get a decent big body GLI and start from there. Last model ng GLI had ABS, yung ksabayan niya sa Honda (VTEC) and Mitsu (Lancer Pizza Pie) wala pa.
