    Hi tsikoters,

I’m planning to buy a brand new car this coming December & my first option is Mitsubishi advie super sport.
I’d like to know the FC of this vehicle compared to its equivalent models of Toyota which is the Innova E. I’m little bit confused what to get between these two models yung advie kasi more than 10 yrs na sa market baka next year wala na hndi gaya ng innova kapapalit lang sa revo & mas h-tech. I need your advice mga tsikoters since this will be my first car & wanna make sure na hindi ako magsisisi. Prefer ko sana ung Diesel Automatic transmission kasi mura diesel jan satin & easy pa idrive since iiwan ko nman s fiancée ko. AUV/MPV gusto ko bilhin for my family. BTW I’m gonna use this car in Bicol. Help me naman mga tsikoters. Budget ko mga more or less 850K lang eh. Alin po ba mas magastos sa gas, 2.0 Gasoline or 2.5 diesel? Consider ko pa rin kasi ung innova almost same price range.
Thank you in advance sa mga tips nyo.
    Godbless.

sir I assessed your requirements and I think you should get the Innova because solely walang A/T na Adventure ngayon.

    about other concerns..

    3. if you plan to keep your car, go for Advie (easier/cheaper maintenance). pero kung after 5 years ibebenta mo na rin kaagad, then go for Innova (higher resale value)

    4. mabagal sa arangkada ang adventure, so if you need a faster car go for Innova.

pero dahil automatic transmission ang kailangan niyo, Innova lang ang choice niyo like I said wala nang A/T Adventure ngayon.

my 2 cents as a proud owner of Adventure.

    Ingat lang sa D4D woes.

    *TS,

Between the two, i`d go for the innova.

Much modern looking. Responsive engine ( VVTi ). Comfortable. Faster than the adventure

Proud owner of Advie GLS here. But it seems that Innova ang mas babagay sa TS based on his requirements and his intended use for the car.

    Innova Diesel: D4D Problem
Advie: Makupad pero walang problema sa engine.

hmm...OT lang, why is it more brand new innova owners prefer D4D than VVTi? just curious lang kasi yun ang lagi kong nakikita sa mga daan nowadays.

i agree to what sir ben_david said, but many of them are not well informed of the D4d issue. but some, who knows the problem but opt out buying a D4d innova, have their fingers crossed.

+1 on this, mas mura ang diesel as fuel compared to gasoline. maganda pa FC vs the vvti 2.0.

Innova hands down. The D4D woes wouldn't be a problem to you if you live in Metro Manila, where the diesel fuel sold is cleaner. The Adventure is pig slow, and its design is very old already.

Out of all the D4D Innovas, and all other 2.5L D4Ds in the country, what is the percentage of those that have suffered D4D woes? I know it's more than any other issue posted here in tsikot, but including everyone else, which I would assume would be at least 20,000 given that Innovas sell at 5,000 units a year, are they really that plenty?

From what I know... it's not a very big number. I don't know anyone in my area who has had the "D4D issue", so it's very possible that it's partially fuel related (an increased vulnerability to poor fuel).

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I know several people who own Innovas and Fortuners. All of them commended the fuel efficiency and power of their engines, none said anything about choking. And there is one particular issue much bigger than this one, and its the the Isuzu Trooper's injector issue. ALL Troopers with the 4JX1-TC engine (sold from 1999-2005) were affected. Had ours replaced too.

i know someone personally with a D4d engine problem, but not about the choking and stalling. its about timing belt/chain (not sure which one, basta about the timing) failure at less than 70k km traveled. its a 2005 Innova J D4d variant.

Replacement of the timing belt? Isn't that replaced regularly from time to time? If you're talking of another problem, is that an isolated case? I haven't heard of any other problems with the Toyota D4D engines.

well, the manual says replacement every 100K. but this is a tricky question. Can you sue for "premature" failure? what if the engine was manhandled by the owner, say, overheat and / or over-rev?

i dont think the owner pursued the warranty (3yrs/100k km which comes first) because it was just last year(2009) that it happened to him. so it will be the innova's 4th year.

Afaik, no abused was done to the engine except for occasional overloading. 7-10 passengers? overloading na ba yun.

The shop that assessed and ,i assumed, fixed the Innova was Wilson and Jackson at Potrero, Malabon along Mcarthur Hi-way.
