We originally plan to loan a brand new toyota innova but my wife have change her mind. she decided na 2nd hand car nalang ang bibilhin since cash na and di na kami mamroblema sa monthly amort. and 300-400k lang ang budget and our choices are

    2004-2006 nissan xtrail
    2004-2006 honda civic
toyota innova if kaya sa budget?
    mazda3
and asof now yun lang ang napagpilian pa.

    and the criteria is
1.durable(at least 5years kaya pa tumagal)
    2.maintenance wise
3.7-8km per liter fc city driving is ok na sa akin
    4. cool aircon

Toyota all the way But keep in mind what renzo mentioned that the D4D engine had an issue before. Since you considered a Civic, why not consider an Altis or Vios as well?

If innova ang maging choice it will be a gas. Di ko type kasi ang altis. I already have a taxi vios 06. Mas gwapo kasi ang civic compare to vios and altis.hehehe

Medyo mahirap maghanap ng D4D Innova for 400k.

Get the one with the 2.3L engine. medyo matipid na for a CUV at 6-7km/L city, depending on route, driving style and traffic conditions. More practical in having a 3rd row for emergencies.

Kung gusto mo comfortable vehicle with large seating capacity and a diesel engine, pwede rin ang Starex TDIC, preferably with the manual. Definitely more comfortable and spacious than an Innova. Old school diesel engine means low cost engine parts should anything break down and serviceable by the neighborhood mechanic, besides, 7-8km/L diesel is very much different from 7-8km/L gas.

Pasok rin ang Kia Carens CRDi. Slightly smaller than the Innova, but much more comfortable. Devilishly fast and fuel efficient too.

among your choices, i would go for the innova.
