July 12th, 2016 10:26 AM #32Not against Vios pero nkakaumay na tignan sa kalsada. Kung Vios ka wag lang white baka parahin ka.
My vote goes to mazda 2, swabeng swabe!
I-test drive mo pala lahat before you decide.

I am a vios owner. I am also not against those people who say "pang taxi" ek ek. Yan ang mga tao na walang vios (either ayaw nila talaga or wala lang talaga silang pambili). Anyway, if you're a 1st time car buyer, what are your preferences ba?
Safety?
Parts/Maintenance?
Cost?
Looks?
Impression? Kapag vios at kulay puti, okay lang naman parahin ka. Kung mazda 2 at kulay puti din, I doubt na hindi possible na parahin ka din. Ang tanong, titigil at isasakay mo ba?

We had a pearl white 2.0V Altis before. Got hailed once when I dropped my sister off in front of the taxi queue.
You see, taxi riders usually can't tell the difference between pearl white and Boysen white, or between a base 1.6E and a TOTL 2.0V. Oh well. [emoji23]

Most hotel taxi service nowadays use the current generation Altis and Camry either in white or gray or black color, except for the bigger hotel brands which opt for Bimmers and Mercs.

July 12th, 2016 10:59 AM #36First time i drove a vios, inatrasan ako ng patrol, driver was a senior and hard of hearing, plus the horn of the car i was driving sounds like fart...btw it was my brother in law's vios...so first mod he did was change the horns...the vios suspension is too soft, youll feel the rocking motion in turns and on humps, for a point A-B car, its good enough for a family whos just starting.

July 12th, 2016 12:13 PM #37kinawayan ka? e, 'di isakay mo! kumita ka pa...
heh heh.
joke.
so what if your car looks like a taxi? it ain't fatal. and it will still get you where you want to go.
and when it comes to maintenance, you won't have a hard time, because it is a very popular model.
just last week, nagpagaqwa ako ng innova sa banawe. katabi ko ay isang not-so-popular model sasakyan.. tagal na naka-tengga, nauna pako matapos kahit na nandiyan na't nakabaklas yung sa kanya nung dumating ako...
sabi ng mekaniko, naghahanap pa raw ng piyesa...Last edited by dr. d; July 12th, 2016 at 12:16 PM.

I drove a 96 White Corolla for more than half of my life. I was flagged down only once. I guess my car's super black tint distinguished it from taxis. It never bothered me having a taxi model car. What's important is it's a reliable car.
I'd go for the Vios.

^Same with my white gen 9.5 Altis. I was flagged down once (when I had my roof carrier cross bar) but it never caused me sleepless nights. Also had a B13 Sentra and same case.
For some reason, i had an inkling that the "Taxi" thing would pop up somewhere along this thread. To each his own though.
