Hello guys and gurus, patulong naman po. i'm planning to buy nissan sentra 03 gx and plan ko rin po ipa upgrade ko ang sound to a better one. my brother is in the middle east kasi and pauwi sya next month kaya balak ko magpabili sa kanya ng player from there as well as amplifier. so,

maraming salamat po in advance for your advices.

pwede po any brand ng car stereo basta single din lang, pioneer or alpine if you want good music.
If you want more louder and clearer, get a component sets for at least 100watts rms for the front and coxial speakers sa likod, then a 4 channel amp na rated 100watts rms X4 * 4 ohms, for the sub, its good for the detail 500 watts rms dual 4 ohms or 2 ohms, if you choose dual 2 ohms, buy an amp rated 500watts rms * 1ohm, or if you want dual 4ohms, buy an amp rated 500watts rms * 2 ohms.

Sir tsikotshop, thanks a lot po for the details. However po, I can’t really follow your instructions well kasi I’m not that geek po sa car sound system. Kaya po I will arranged it into category. Please correct it po if I’m wrong:

    Front (L & F): 100 watts rms (4 ohms)
    Rear Coaxial (L & F): 100 watts rms (4 ohms)
    Subwoofer: ???
4 Channel Amplifier: 100 watts rms

Sir, can you recommend po ba some brands for speakers and amplifier and car stereo player na rin po?

Sir, paano din po ang connection nito?

    a. front, rear speakers and sub connected amplifier?
    b. Front connected to car stereo, rear and sub connected sa amplifier?
    c. Front and rear speakers connected to car stereo, sub connected to amplifier?

    Marami pong salamat in advance.

Any single DIN unit will work on it naman.

Typical budget set up are front speakers connected to channel 1 and 2 ng amp. Channel 3 and 4 are bridged (combined) to drive the sub. Rear speakers are just powered by the internal amp of the head unit (radio) since it is only for rear fill.

Thanks a lot po Sir Otep, pasensya na po ha pero i di ko po gaanong masundan po ang mga terminologies ng car connection set up pero i understand DIN as yung sukat ng typical na head unit. however po, di ko pa rin ma figure out yung instructions nyo. What does it mean po yung bridging and channels? I appreciate po if you can elaborate further po. i'm planning pala to buy a Pioneer face-off, Pioneer 100 watts rms 4 ohms for front and rear, sony xplod amplifier and a subwoofer.

Sir, i am also seeking advices po on how to install subwoofer? i have two choices which are buying a sub with factory-made box (e.g. Xplod Bazooka, JVC, etc) or yung subwoofer lang po na walang box. Just in case bilhin ko yung walang subwoofer speaker, pwede ko po bang i kabit with screws lang ang sub speaker sa likod ng sandalan?

    Thanks po.

Sir tsikotshop, thanks po for fulfilling my queries as well as the links provided. this helps me a lot.

Sir, i am also seeking advices po on how to install subwoofer. If i will buy a subwoofer na speaker lang without the box, pwede ko po bang ikabit sya sa likod ng sandalan with screws lang? or do i really need a box for it?

yung about kay Sir Otep, i can't still figure out the installation instructions. What does it mean po yung bridging and channels? pasensya na po kasi medyo diko pa gaanong alam ang mga terminologies ng installation. ang connection po ba is this:

(amplifier is mandatory connected to head unit)

    a. front, rear speakers and sub connected to amplifier?
    b. Front connected to head unit, rear and sub connected to amplifier?
    c. Front and rear speakers connected to head unit, sub connected to amplifier?

thanks po and to this site.

Bridging is simple. Imbis na yung left and right wire ng subwoofer mo ay ilalagay mo sa positive at negative terminal ng isang channel ng amp, ang gagawin mo ay positive sa channel 3 then negative sa channel 4. Bridged na siya. Two channels powering your sub.

A sub has typically 4 channels. 1 2 3 4. One for each speaker. So channel 1 and 2 para sa front speakers (1 left, 2 right) then combine channel 3 and 4 (bridge) para hindi mabitin sa power ang subwoofer.

A subwoofer without a box is called a free air sub. Pwede naman iyan pero I don't recommend it. Hindi ko gusto yung sound parang bitin kasi it cannot create enough air pressure (bass). You can try it if you are curious. A good sealed box will work and those cost less than Php2k in most audio shops. Check your sub also as to what size of box it requires.

Google mo Kotseaudioclub.com . That's where I learned how to build el cheapo budget systems.

You mean, the sub mounted as a free air, maybe you have to box it for good performance of the woofer.
Maybe you have to find a certified installer sir, to install it for you, if you dont know how to install it, but if you prefer to just trial and error thing, go ahead, it is your equipment, car audio is not as simple, you have to learn a lot every detail of it, every day, you have to work with a experience installer to perfectly manged the installation, it's better to pay 1.5k rather than burning your equipment in the first place and so replace it.
Sir otep provide you an idea but not telling you the basic information, what if your amp is showing front and rear(not 1,2,3,4) and not also bridgeable, your gone..
http://jon299.multiply.com/ is my own page, you can learn things there as basic, i created these page once i forget those basic things, and so i will access it anywhere. Just look around.

Its a hobby. Just have fun with it. If you don't know something just ask around. And buy equipment with a user manual so at least you have an idea. At least that's what I did at the start.

I'm no audiophile and I've blown a few fuses already. But hey, at least there's something else to do after doing surgeries all day. And you get to meet new friends along the way.
