A bit incorrect, red.
Example: Bumili si LL ng JBL speaker. Tinanggal nya yung JBL logo, pinalitan nya ng LL logo bago ibenta. that's Rebranding.
To be a rebrand, you need to be outsourcing your speakers to a
generic mass-manufacturing speaker company then you relabel.
If you buy a
JBL speaker, tinangal mo yun logo and change it with a logo of your choice then you resell it.. tawag na dyan is a
fake or
counterfeit.
The reasons for this is because JBL has numerous patents on their speakers and simply rebranding those means copyright infringement.
Once you know it's a copy of a known product, it's already called a counterfeit.
Parang bags lang yan.. let me give you an analogy.
Let's say you have a Louis Vuitton bag. You know it's an LV bag kasi.. well.. design and logo palang alam mo na LV siya.
Let's also say you managed to change the LV with the Louis Vuitton logo. Since ayaw mo ng LV.. ginawa mo MV.. for Michael V but everything else remains the same except the logo.
What you have there is a
fake good. You aren't rebranding.. it's a copy because LV's has patents sa design and logo imprints ng bag niya.. and that constitutes its brand identity. Even if you change the LV mini logos of the bag into MV.. you're still liable for counterfeiting and LVMH can sue you for that since what they patent also is the "design".
