guys, why is it that there are cars na kung nasa loob ka malakas yung bayo tapos pag lumabas ka mahina lang while on the contrary, there are cars na pag malapit ka sa kotse or nasa loob ka mahina yung bayo pero pag malayo ka sa kotse todo lakas at gapang ng bayo?

this is the case kasi between me and my friend. what's the reason behind this? btw, 800watts yung subs ko na naka sealed na nakaharap sa trunk lid. siya, sedan din pero isang sub lang na 500watts sealed nakaharap naman sa back seat.

    please enlighten me on this!

Kapag nakaharap dun sa trunk lid tendency is nakukulong yung sound inside the trunk lalo na kung nakasoundproof yung compartment mo.

Unlike dun sa nakaharap sa backseat, lahat nung sound is palabas and I may say is the proper mounting ng subs. Then mas malakas yung sound and mas gapang kasi it uses your cabin na parang box ulit.

    Kinda like that!!!

sir, do you mean mas malakas yung sound sa LABAS kung nakaharap sa upuan yung subs? kasi in my case, mas malakas at mas buo po yung sound sa LOOB kung nakaharap sa trunk lid yung subs.

    HUH!?!?!?

mejo malabo yata ang sagot mo dude......

bass travels in a certain direction talaga.....

some peeps tend to aim the subs towards the trunk....so that the bass will have ample space to "build up"..

thats why kapag naka tapat sa trunk....

"mas malakas" daw ang bass sa labas....it's because...bass needs space...to travel...and build up....

    gets?

yah.. i know that kaya nga it depends sa listener, others prefer na firing towards the trunk others naman sa cabin...may difference daw eh...havent tried it ksi hindi na sedan ang car ko pero nung sedan pa car ko sa cabin naka fire ang bass...yung ibang friends ko sabi mas lalakas daw pag facing the trunk...hindi ko na rin nagalaw...

    peace!!

bass really needs space to travel and build up....especially when set to lower frequencies and doing the right adjustments on your xover and box design.....based on my personal experience.......just like what I have in my van......it has a lot of space to build up........it takes the whole interior of my van to fill up then travel wherever the compressed air can escape.....that's why it tends to throw in front and sides of my vehicle.....most especially when I open the side door......

also in some cases like in competitions......where the suv's and cars are in diffrent category.....largely considering the volume of the said vehicles.......

Good question! Ganyang-ganyan sana itatanong ko e. My sub is a Stealth powered sub with it's two ports facing the trunk lid. Sa loob ng cabin ang lakas at ang ganda ng tunog ng bass kahit nasa minimum woofer setting lang pero sa labas halos hindi marinig.

mainly because it has no space to travel.....try opening the trunk lid and observe any changes.......mostly ported boxes work that way........

Based on my experience (I did both ways kasi). Mas malakas ung dating sa labas ng bass pag sa back seat nakaharap yung subs kasi nga base na din sa mga sinabi nila, it needs a space to build up and that's what your cabin is doing kaya pag dating sa labas malakas yung bass and mahaba yung gapang!!

    PEACE!!!

    nielsen,

for your question 1delacruz.......better face your subs either upward or towards the front.....never face it towards your back......for the "gapang" question......how did you set your xover low channel frequencies? if it is at its lowest and you're using sealed boxes.......hanapin mo ang range kung saan audible bass......there are some cases that pag malapit ka....wala kang maramdaman na bass.......pero at some distances.....nandun nakatago.......funny isn't it?......pero it's due to the frequency that your sub is breathing out..........it happened to me before when i was still using my Infinity Kappa Series passive xover........I put the subs using the "low" channel output of the xover......tested it and I said...."tangnang to!!! sayang lang ang pera ko dito ha?!.......walang bayo!!!".........fortunately my friends where near the vicinity.....then told me "pre! ang lakas naman ng bayo niyan!!!" .......it is only then when I started experimenting frequencies........I hope that I was able to help you with your problem.....:D

xover settings depends on your sound preferrence and what music you often listen to......since hindi ko kabisado ang xover frequencies ng F41000......better ask your installer....sometimes installers adjust these things on there own sound preferrence......:D

standard for xover frequencies for the low frequency channel is around 40 Hz.....any value lower than that makes the bass more softer.......ideal for jazz music and the like......if you go higher than 40 Hz.......it makes the bass more "matigas".......more on the SPL side of bass........I'd look for my chart regarding bass frequencies for different genres of songs....ranging from jazz to club........post ko na lang dito para at least you'ld have an idea....:D

i don't understand bass.
