that's a great idea. but it would be too expensive for now. imagine a one gig mmc would cost around thirteen thousand.
    settle for mp3's muna siguro.

meron, yung high-end blaupunkt HUs may mmc slot, like this one:

    Blaupunkt Skyline Los Angeles MP72

pero i think it'll take a longer time to read/access the MMC compared to the reading time of a regular CD-R.

the problem with CDs, whether audio or mp3s, is that you have to burn them first. at napapansin ko na din kasi, naiipon na mga CDs sa car ko, and i dont really listen to all the cds anyway. unlike memory cards, reusable, re-writeable, anytime you want. pwede mo save your songs for the day just before you leave the office and go home. ang travel time ko naman daily when i drive is from home to office, about 2hours kung grabe ang traffick. pwede na ung 128MB or 256MB cards, not necessarily gigs of space. btw, a 1 gig MMC costs 6T, and they're coming down pa.

it might not be now, pero the days of CDs are already numbered due to memory cards.

Was thinking the exact same thing during the advent of MP3-capable HUs.

Ang alam ko pong meron is Blaupunkt (Woodstock DAB 54 recordable radio). May slots para sa MMC/SD. May integral player for CD-R/RW at MMC/SD cards. 4 x 50W ang power output.

if you have an available budget for it, there is one being auctioned at ebay philippines for 20k. It also available for swap with an i-Pod. Sony MEX-HD1.

If you have the dough, you can get an iPod or any MP3/WMA/OggVorbis player with an internal HDD and rig it to your car. Lotsa sites on the 'Net on DIYs for this sort of thing. Great thing about these players is that you can store up to 10T songs (depending on the size of the HDD and the compression ration used) so you would have jukebox where you don't need to change CDs for a long time.

HU with memory cards?
