I practice turning off all accessories before shutting down my engine, and starting the engine first before turning on the radio.. i started this practice when I had powered antenna....kasi if you start your car and on sya.. when you place the key to acc, the antenna starts going up and when i start the car, the antenna then goes down and then goes back up..so na practice ko na to start the car when radio is off to protect din my power antenna

yes lalo’t may amplifier. malakas maka apekto / makasira ng speakers ang biglang lakas. Pero kung stock at mahina lang naman volume pwede na hindi.

Gawain ko dati yan when our cars have power antennas. ngayong hindi na uso power antennas, I don't turn off the radio anymore when I stop the engine.

I switch off the radio before I kill the engine, kaya talagang nakapatay ang radyo the next time I start the car.

November 12th, 2008 09:14 PM #19We've had like 8 cars since the year 2000. 3 Nissans 1 toyota. 4 hondas. None of them had the problem that the radio broke because its not turned off.
I think its designed to live with sudden power cut-offs. If I were Pioneer, Clarion, etc., I would make sure the products dont get affected by that.
I actually think theres more chance of actually breaking the power button kung nagmamadali ka na i-start yung car (namatayan ka, etc.)

since i've added additonal ICE, i've made into a habit of switching off all my onboard electronics. As they say, better to than be sorry afterwards. Nothing to loose, but hopefully we gain extra life for our electronics
