A lot of manufacturers now release their own entertainment/navigation system...

If you had the option... Will you choose to have a car with "replaceable" entertainment/navigation system?

Or do you prefer "built-in" system?

ang maganda sa built-in, it works perfectly, and blends seamlessly, off the casa.

For me, built-in. Biggest selling point of modern cars nowadays ang entertainment systems.

The aftermarket industry will always find a way to integrate/adapt their products into new vehicles. But medyo mahihirapan sila sa mazda by the looks of it.

Car audio perspective, of course replaceable head unit is still the answer.

But you can buy DSP para maging tunable but then again mahal ang DSP.

I agree na maganda yung built-in... iwas nakaw din kasi di nila magagamit system mo sa ibang sasakyan...

Kaso, naisip ko... paano 10-15 years later kapag bumagal na yung system... babalik yung car sa casa for software update? reformat?

Depends. Sa local car industry usually pinapalitan naman nila yung OEM in-house designed ng aftermarket HU probably to cut costs.

Some in-house infotainment systems can be quite limited like no A/V input (HDMI or RCA), paid map updates, no smartphone mirroring, no built in navigation, etc. But I've seen modules sold online that can piggyback on built infotainment systems para magdagdag ng functions, hindi nga lang siguro ganun ka seamless ang integration.

countries' radio station frequency distributions are sometimes different.
that is why, kung minsan ay "namimili ang radyo kung saang bansa siya puedeng gamitin".

Built in works perfectly. No need to destroy my ears with high volume music.
I already have tinnitus playing in my head 24 hours a day.
Those of you who want tinnitus, just play loud! The louder the better, you do not need to wait long before you have your built in head stereo. But remember you can never switch it off.
