sir jhnkvn, updated price po ba nung morel maximo 6 is 6-7k lang? Parang sabi sa back read ko na introductory price lang un and now mga nasa 10k-ish na price niya. Paenlighten naman ng price talaga nito. And pahingi naman po tips sa seps among maximo 6, DLS RS6N or Focal pero mukhang malabo un budget ko for focal.

    Maximo 6 vs DLS RS6N?

Nope. Oldie ako so I wouldn't be surprised kung nagtataas sila presyo. They do it regularly naman kasi (price jacks) to compensate for inflation.

    I'm still for JBL.

But between Morel Maximo 6 or the DLS, I'll go for Morel.

sir jhnkvn, quickly nalang, 7500 for the morel maximo 6, 8k for the DLS RS6N, you said na you'd go for morel parin. why? for extra 500, isn't un reference series ng DLS is on par with entry ng Focal? which makes it a tad higher than morel right? Why would you choose morel parin over DLS reference? Thanks.

may mga nabasa din ako mga post niyo nuon na sabi niyo,
Focal's entry levels seps -- 165A1 Access should cost around 9k retail. 8500php after haggling.
I don't like DLS X-Program at all. IMO, best enter DLS at RS6.

Focal's entry-level Access lineup is still expensive kahit sabihin natin "entry". It's priced around 7-8k AFAIK. It's peer is DLS RS6.

Morels take 2nd place. I like their tonal quality but their highs might leave you a bit dazed. Madami umaagal that they're too "bright"

well sabi niyo some say morels are bright, and tinignan ko un manual nung morel maximo, I think walang attenuation controls un tweeter nito, so hindi kaya maging problem kung bright sounding siya kasi no more control to correct it? Or the EQ controls from the HU would be enough naman to "tame" un bright sound. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, if you have any idea po ano sound signature ng DLS RS6N? and morel maximo?

First is that please DO NOT buy Focal products over at sulit.com. Most of them (more than 90% actually) are fakes.

Yes. Kung walang tweeter attentuation, you can always opt to -1 the treble. In most cases, there's simply two things on why a tweeter sounds "harsh". One is that it's way above level -- in other words.. masyado siya malakas at emphasized. And two is that the tweeter is distorting and our ears equate that as harshness.

In the realm of speaker construction, I dunno how these speakers can be harsh by a long margin really. Unless pangit talaga pag-construct ng speaker designs nila. Coming from me, one of the main things I look for in judging a tweeter to be harsh is its materials. The reason why Focal is considered "bright" by many stems due to its metal dome tweeters. On the otherhand, silk dome tweeters are cheaper, easier to tune, easier to get right, but roll off earlier and contribute a "warm" sound. This is why a lot of speaker manufactures love silk dome tweeters (Morel, DLS, Dynaudio amongst the bigger ones).

JBL on the otherhand is famous for a unique "tweeter": compression loaded horns.

Sa totoo lang, you'll lean towards a certain sound eventually. But unless you've listened to a lot of systems, you probably won't know where you are.

P.S. I'm a bit biased on warmth. This is why in hi-fi, I prefer Dynaudios over Focal-JMLabs.

Hehe. Okay. So eliminate ko na si dls. Hhmmm. Limited na rin budget ko for amp. Around 6k lang. Naghanap ako. And i found JBL a604 for 6.5k. Kaso rated RMS ay 60w lang. Morels and jbl 609c are 90w. I know di naman siya magagamit fully pero di kaya ako mabitin if i want to crank up the volume paminsan minsan?

May nagsabi sakin na friend ko na 10k lang daw un Morel Tempo. Naguluhan tuloy ako lalo and thinking if I would go for the Tempo and close my eyes. hehe. Pikit mata ko siyang bibilhin nalang. and hope na makakuha ng pamasko totaling to 8.5k para makabili ng JBL 804ez (80w x 4) or any good amp for 8k na masusuggest niyo. Is my 3k extra worth it for the Tempo over the Maximo? Thanks.
