boss caloy,
ang mahal mahal naman pala ng %$^%$!! alpine na yan! :P
cda 9847 is only $130 if you order it from the US (ito yung follow-on model sa 9827, ipod-ready na siya and with 3 pre-outs). even with shipping, i'm sure mga $150 lang yun (8000 or so).
seems like the pioneer 2750 is the best best for entry-level MP3 HU? (aside from unknown korean brands) mga $110 yun online, and 6000 petot locally, so hindi worth it na mag-order online plus shipping pa..
meron akong nakitang Daewoo na VCD/MP3 head unit sa park square 1, 6000 petot lang. (walang screen of course) katakot lang kasi Daewoo brand. kung samsung yun, bibilhin ko na
BTW while on the topic of cheap sounds. "universal" ba yung interface ng mga lumang CD changer? kasi if my HU is busted (nawawala-wala yung ibang speakers, right now halos walang sound yung rear, pero haven't checked the rear speakers and wiring yet) i'd like to replace it with an MP3 HU. pero sayang naman yung in-trunk CD changer. pwede pa ba yun?

you get what you pay for :D afaik, the new upcoming HUs ng alpine are made in china na raw. . .not saying that made in china is bad pero previous models are made in japan. . baka cheaper labor kaya mas mura . . scout around for used alpines, promise, mas sulit yan ;)

boss caloy,
naka-alpine ako ngayon eh (na luma). :P
yun nga lang, kung may tama yung HU ko, gusto kong makamura. and in general mas mahal talaga alpine kesa pioneer and friends. even the sony xplod is cheaper than alpine! (sa US at least) pero daming bad feedback..
