Growl is the best. Contact Michael of Growl Philippines. They have an FB acct
I'd rather wait for a few months more before Google and Apple finalize their software. I read somewhere di na compatible yung Pioneer HU sa CarPlay kasi binago ulit hardware requirements, both are still at early stage. Better get a headunit with screen mirroring instead, majority naman ng Android phones may Car mode![]()
Growl Audio units are running full Android, I personally don't like the UI, feels like there's a generic Android tablet on your dashboard. Sana ma customize pa nila yung UI para mas appealing tignan.
For S7E users, what's your Android Auto version? Mine won't connect. Pretty sure I downloaded the right version for my phone. Gonna try another cable later.

Seems like a re badged Joying unit.

Nothing against Growl HU’s, but they are overpriced. Other units on the market have the same specs but almost half the price.
And Dasaita is not a rebadged Joying. I know because i own one since Feb. So far so good naman.

Daisata, Joying, Xtrons are some of the most popular Chinese Android HUs. I think all of them are manufactured in the same factory and nagkakatalo nalang sa software. Nakaka 1 year na Joying 7" universal HU ko and so far ok pa naman. Didn't upgrade to Android 6.0 due to 5.0 being more stable sa stock Joying firmware.

^ Sama mo na dyan Seicane, Ezonetronics at Eincar. In fairness, they are getting better and cheaper. Malaki improvement nila over the past year in terms of software and build quality.
I have one (the 10 inch version) and am very happy with it.
Make sure you order the right model. If you want video output for rear headrest monitors you must specify it as by default theybsont have video output.
Screen mirroring is a bit hit or miss though....but i dont see the need for this much.

Just get any latest PX5-based octa core units with at least 4GB RAM. Masmabilis PX5 units compared to Intel Sofia units. Mga local audio shops sell android HUs so check mo nalang.

If you are for SQ. The DAC quality may be suspect in an Android HU. Better get the ones from Pioneer, Alpine or Kenwood. Those models that have built-in CarPlay and Android Auto. Incidentally, the HUs that are capable of such already got excellent tuning features. Highend models too from those brands uses a highend AKM DAC. If you already got your Android HU, one other option is to use the optical out of that HU and use an external processor.
Regarding the External Processor, it's an add-on equipment to give your stock or existing HUs more tuning options. Examples of these are the Audison Bit One or Ten, Hertz DSP H8 and the Helix DSP Models. There also some options from Mosconi and even Lightning Lab created one.
