AM radio static

is there a way to remove the static whenever i tune in to AM radio in my HU?

boybs, afaik, depende sa location mo ang quality ng AM eh. ako, some parts in makati, malakas static. while some parts ng makati, sobrang clear.

before ako nagpakabit ng amps mga 3yrs ago, bihira lang yung mga area na may static. nung naglagay na ako ng amps (china na V12) dumami yung mga area na may static. tapos nasira yung amp, pinalitan ko ng another china V12, lalong dumami pa. tapos nung pinasukan ng tubig car ko sa ilog, nabasa yung amp. pinalitan ko naman ng Lightning Audio na amp, puro static na yung AM!

Fafa Boybi, try mong magkabit ng noise suppressor between the amp and power supply. Mura lang naman ang noise suppressor - may tig 150 petot lang (sa banawe at raon).

Either that or gumawa ka ng loop antennae tas ilagay mo sa hood, he he he.

mukhang ok yang antenna sa hood a pwede bang kabayo gawin kong antenna?

hindi ba makaka apekto sa performance ng amp yang noise suppressor?

Nope. I have one dun sa Lancer (itlog ko). So far, so good.

I posted almost similar question last time. Wala nga lang nakuha input. hehehe

Static ko ay during the first 3-5 minutes after starting and sa DZMM lang (AM kasi for the news ako on the way to work eh). Very clear naman pag tuned up sa ibang radio station like DZBB or DZRH. AFter 3-5 min, clear na rin sa DZMM. Iba yung humming sound eh. malakas talaga and continuous.

baliktad naman sa akin, minsan malinaw sa first few minutes, tapos mapalakas na ng palakas yung static, minsan parang multo sa background na palakas ng palakas.

Agree that the area/locality is a factor here.

Typically as the vehicle becomes older, its electrical/electronic components become 'noisy'. Since AM is 'amplitude modulation', mas prone siya sa noise or static if an AC signal is riding on your DC supply. Various electrical modification, addition of electrical/electronic gadgets sa sasakyan ang iba pang factors.

Try rewiring you DC supply sa HU,- direct the battery terminal. It may offer some relief.
