If you really like the BMW not just for porma but for the superior driving qualities of the car, and don't want to worry about the expensive casa maintenance, one option is the leasing plan. After the lease, goodbye BMW pero no more worries about the piling maintenance worries and expenses as the car gets older.

In any case, it seems maintaining a BMW is generally cheaper than upkeeping a Mercedes or Audi here in the Phils, no?

I don't know about running an Audi, but compared to MB, a BMW is more expensive to maintain in that it breaks down way more often that any of the MB's that I've encountered.

I guess breakdown rate is another important factor to maintenance cost given that the big German brands only have 2 years warranty locally.

^ Sorry make that "MOST Euro brands". They just seem to follow the minimum EU mandated warranty. Never mind the unlimited mileage coz really 100,000 km is already a long running distance to accumulate in 2 years.

Ironically, Peugeot which happens to be distributed locally by BMW distributor's sister company if im not mistaken, offers 3 years warranty. And if you ask around, people will tell you that a Peugeot is more likely to break down than a BMW. At least you got your warranty haha.

Cause they want to start making more money earlier on service. They move less car volumes than regular brands. And while their markups are higher than normal, they really do make a killing on service and spare parts. So if they can advance the time to recurring revenue....the better.

How expensive is expensive ? (BMW maintenance)
