if i remember it right, yung isang company car namin dito na volvo, na-icharge ng 1500 yung corporate affairs namin for that one stencil. hehehehe.

First time I heard of that.
It is BMW's fault na ganon ang design ng engine number (nakatago sa ilalim?) tapos pahihirapan ang mga buyers to shell out that much money for a simple stencil. Yung mga BMW owners naman, walang magawa since they own a BMW so they think they have to bear with this and the casa thinks these people have money to burn.
If that was my car, and if it still had warranty, I would have complained with the manager of BMW to have it done for free. Try to compose a complaint letter to the president of BMW and have it published in one of the newspapers or car columnist such as james deakin.
Who the hell actually looks at those stencils anyways? For all the years I've had the Pajero, once lang siya na-stencil ng totoo. Nung mag-change ng ownership. That's it.

naku baka mabasa ng japanese car makers ito at pahirapan sa future models, imagine toyota corolla or honda crv charging P1,000 for stencil. with 1M of these models on the streets magkano yun hehehe?Originally Posted by happy_gilmore
uhm, medyo masama to pero 150 php usually ang "multa" if missing ang engine number stencil. as long as hindi mo kinarnap yung kotse mo, ok lang cguro tohehe.

Other countries do not require the engine number for registration or insurance, they only use the VIN.Originally Posted by edl100
ako ginagamit ko is carbon paper at scotch(???) tape. pahid mo sa engine number yung carbon paper then dikit mo yung tape then pull it off. parang finger printing. tanggap din naman ng LTO. ewan ko lang sa iba.
just wondering...
yep VIN number nasa baba lng na wiper under the hood.
