Another tip to improve our FC is by installing A/C switch, and use it for power management. A/C switch is use to disengage and engage the air compressor from the engine without controlling the thermostat (discussed previously). Whenever you need greater power like during hard acceleration especially when overtaking or during accending, by turning off the A/C switch momentarily the air compressor will be disengaged thus removing aircon load to your engine. By this, your engine will run faster and you dont need to step on the gas pedal harder, so this saves on gas and also protects our environment and another one good this is that the engine will not be over stressed. After that instance about 5 to 15 seconds switch on the A/C switch back again to maintain temperature of your cabin. This will not affect so much your inside temperature hahabulin naman ng thermostat yan and that is while the engine is lightly loaded. If you make this a habit tatagal ang makina mo.
Not unless kung super init ang panahon and you have many passengers, hindi mo magagawa ito kasi maiinitan pasahero mo, if this the case you really have to burn more gas thus your engine will work harder.
There are times kasi na ang engine natin is under loaded (during engine braking or pababa), or lighty loaded when sailing smoothly(pag nasa bwelo na o medyo patag na kalsada), and hardly loaded (during hard acceleration and accending) and sometimes even overloaded (during racing or matinding akyatan) that's the time you must turn off your aircon. Keep in mind that aircon is a big load.
Question: Baka masira ang air compressor kaka patay sindi.
Answer: Patay sindi naman ang air compressor even if you maintain the A/C switch on in order to maintain the desired temp of your cabin.
Btw, I already taught this to my younger sister and she keeps on doing it. Her car is an alto, powered by an 800cc engine. I told her you need this power management to keep your engine running for a long time.
So tipid sa gas.
For better or for worst. Pag ginamit, for worst. On my way home, pag di na ma traffic, I turn off the compressor. pag medyo mainit na, I turn off the fan and then open the windows.
This needs power mula sa engine.
It's maybe one of their reasons but their main reason is para makita ng pasahero karatula kung saang byahe sila.
Yup, may idle up pa yan na pag liliko ka tataas nya idle, the reason is bibigat kasi yung hydraulic.
FYI yung honda city and jazz use electric power steering so less ang consumption, kokonsumo lang sya pag liliko ka not like yung hydraulic steering pirme gumagana ang hydraulic supply even di ka lumiliko.

*shadow3616931,
:D :D :D hehehehehe (tawang ala demonyo)
Just to add lang to improve your FC is by your right foot. naka-depend talaga mostly kung papitik-pitk lang or always full throttle ka.

Gas Station - Petron ATC
Gas Pumped - 34.18L
Trip Meter - 323.8km
Ave. FC - 9.47km/L
double post...

Hello guys, just had my 5K PMS in TYT Balintawak and saw a copy of their "Fuel Efficiency Guide" which I would like to share. So enjoy reading....
Source: Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation
A. Driving Techniques:
1. Drive and Glide Driving - Accelerating and driving under 2,000rpm is the most fuel-efficient. Anticipate stops. When approaching intersections, for example, glide the rest of the way.
2. Maintain a safe distance - When following a car, maintain a safe distance to allow for ample reaction time for accelerating or decelerating instantly when suddenly needed.
3. Horizon Driving - Don't just focus your attention on the bumper of the car ahead. Keep your eyes on the horizon to anticipate your actions and avoid upcoming obstacles by changing lanes instead of braking frequently.
4. Avoid Engine Idling - When you let your vehicle idle longer that 10 seconds, you burn more fuel that you would when restarting the engine. Contrary to common perception, most vehicles don't require engine warm up.
5. Stay under the speed limit - As a general rule, always try to stay at least 10km/h under the speed limit, specially when driving uphill or on the highway.
B. Travelling Tips:
1.Combine errands - Avoid short trips. If you have multiple stops, plan them to do all on the same trip. A longer "chain" of errands will result in a better fuel economy than multiple short ones.
2. Avoid bad weather - Avoid driving in inclement weather if possible, as rain can dramatically increase rolling resistance.
3. Windows up - Drive windows up at higher speeds to minimize aerodynamic drag. Use flow-through ventilation if possible.
C. Car Care & Maintenance:
1. Maintain your vehicle properly - Be consistent in having your regular vehicle check-up. A poorly maintained vehicle consumes more fuel, produces higher levels of emissions, and requires expensive repairs.
2. Proper Tire Pressure - Keep your tires properly inflated as recommended by the manufacturer. A single tire under-inflated by just 8psi can increase your vehicle's fuel consumption by 4%.
3. Clear junk from your trunk - The additional weight you carry in your vehicle doesn't ride for free. It takes energy to move it around. Removing unnecessary stuff from your vehicle safes fuel.

Naalala ko lang po, mayroong similar thread about Avanza FC started by _Qwerty_.

Guyz,
Another way of saving fuel is to lighten up our car's load. Heavy load means more power and more power means more gas. And there is also a tire that helps save gas and helps the environment as well.
With the Michelin Energy XM1 and MXV8 you experience the finest
level of driving comfort, optimum grip and handling. These tires get you all that, in all conditions, plus longer tire life. As your tires consume 20% of your car’s fuel, Michelin Energy tires feature innovative Energy, GREEN X™ – a breakthrough technology that uses silica
compounds which reduce the amount of energy required to push your car, saving fuel and reducing car emission thus saving the environment. For better luxury and comfort without sacrificing
anything else including the environment.
I just want to share what I've read. Im just waiting for my stock dunlop tires to wear-off so that I could replace it with Michelin Energy Tires.
Michelin also has a new promo started just yesterday.. Maybe there are members here who already due to replace their tires, this is a good time to do it because there is a promo.

ilan km bago expected na mag wear of ang tires natin?
type of tire, tire width, tire pressure are some of the factors that effect FC.
